It's been spirit week all week at my school. Tomorrow is group day, me and all my friends are going to do thriller. I's dressing up Miami Vice style.

Does anyone have spirit week at their school? If so what is your favorite day and explain it.

I don't have ANY days at school. I should start a petition to allow transvestite days at school.

I just had "School Spirit Day", wear the colors of the school (black, purple, gray...) Weird colors, but for some reason, purple and black look awesome on some people.

Here in the PSD we have spirit DAYS but not spirit WEEKS. There's always a selected theme (sad face) and we follow that. IE: Crazy hat day.

The only thing like that is Hallowe'en, and a couple days of 'FUN FUN FUN ACTIVITIES' at the end of the semester for me.
We dress up like fucking twits, play poker, watch PG13 movies, and smile for cameras.

It's fun, but it's only for a couple of hours D:

The end of the year thing is really boring, so nobody goes.

We never have shit like this. We just have mufti days, which is to say we bring in a gold coin donation for whichever charity and get to not wear uniform as a result.

I'm on fall break right now. I think when I get back is our homecoming week. No need for things like 'pajama day' in college. We have things like mud ball, charities, and a really noobish carnival. It's things like, buy a ticket and you can play a game a get a piece of candy. I'm part of the marksmanship club, and we're running an open range for it. Instead of buy a ticket and get a piece of candy, it's more like buy a ticket and get one 9mm round, ten .22 rounds, or a few 38 specials to fire. I dare say we're going to be more popular than the greeks.

Our school's spirit(less) week was this past week. I'll tell you, I don't think I have ever seen less school spirit. I honestly don't think they could have made it fail more even if it was their goal. Typically, our spirit week is the week of Thanksgiving. We have two full days, then one half day on which we have the spirit assembly that takes up 90% of the day. This year, they thought it would be super cool to move it up to the second week in October. They said they wouldn't be able to have it the week before Thanksgiving because of the construction that is currently (:downs:) going on in our school, though everyone believes that they really couldn't have chosen a worse time.

Every year each the school gets to choose a general theme, then based off of that theme, each class can choose a theme that fits inside that theme. For instance, last year was "decades", and each class got a decade to pick from. Then, once they have that selected, they decorate every single hallway in the school with beautiful, creative artwork from floor to ceiling of their theme. There isn't a single square inch of walls left exposed, and the building is huge - 4 wings, one for each class. When you walk into the building the first day everything is up, it's like you're walking into a wonderland. It really is impressive. There were also a lot of other awesome things that went on those few days, and the assembly on the last day with the students and staff was entertaining.

This year, for whatever reason, they said that we couldn't do what we would normally do due to the construction. Yeah, we don't have any ceilings in the hallways, but that affects the wall decorations...how? Yeah, no one else understood it, either. To try and compensate, they thought they would make awesome themes for every day. Hey, that might have worked...if they weren't so lame. They also thought they would make the assembly more interesting by letting more students participate in the activities this year. Their only flaw with that was you had to buy a shirt to participate. They sold shirts in every homeroom, but the majority of people were boycotting them because of how they shafted us this year. There were only about 15/500 students per class who participated, and even then they had to scavenge the audience for some people who didn't have shirts and were willing to participate. The activities were also about as awesome as the daily themes. Those old field day activities from 5th grade field day were brought back for "fun". The best part of them was when a freshman got a little happy after coming in 3rd place (out of 4) that he was running and attempted to slide on his knees, but instead ended up landing on his knees and doing a FACEPLANT into the ground. I hope that got caught on tape. If it was, you'll see it on YouTube as Freshman Faceplant.

The highlight of the entire assembly (aside from the freshman eating dirt) was at the end when they tried to get us hyped up. The cheerleaders were doing their second to last cheer with their pretty cool tricks (really) and the audience was chanting "TITS! TITS! TITS! TITS!". After that, they decided to recite the little cheers two people in each class came up with. The freshman did theirs and it was ok, then the juniors went second. In the front, they held up a huge piece of poster paper with the cheer written on it (for those who didn't memorize it in advance). From the second it was held up, the entire class just started booing and shaking the stadium for about 5 minutes. They attempted to say it over the speakers, but then the booing just got louder. They stopped the class cheers after that, after getting only half way through them. :downs: The booing at the beginning of the assembly was also pretty good. When they were first attempting to get everyone to show their spirit, the "boo-bomb" was dropped and it was ridiculous how loud it was. The teachers were just standing around and laughing. It was getting difficult to boo because it was so humorous.

Volleyball in a two and a half foot deep box. In that box, mud is made. Many midgets have died in this game.

I go to CU... we have school spirit every couple of Sundays, when the CU Buffs are playing football. Everybody wears the school color yellow (what a crappy school color imo) and drinks and yells and screams and basically lives up to CU's reputation as a boozy reckless party school.

You'd think being at a party school would be awesome, but there are 3 problems:
1: I'm an engineer. Engineers don't go to parties. We make up excuses like oh those silly arts and sciences majors have such easy classes that they can afford it but we're taking real classes. But the truth is we're just antisocial geeks.
2: Seriously, it seems like CU is always partying. The parties never stop. At first it's cool, but it doesn't take very long for the repetition to get completely lame.
3: Everybody does really stupid things, like drink themselves to death, drive drunk, drink themselves to death, vandalize drunk, drink themselves to death, do various other illegal things (while drunk), and oh yeah, did I mention drink themselves to death?

Seriously, I'm fine with drinking, and getting a bit drunk, but Jesus, CU has a reputation for getting so completely totally wasted that it's almost tradition for the newspapers to report which students died from alcohol poisoning every year.

Everything else about CU is good tho. =)

edit: oh, and ross? Uniforms suck. When I went to middle school the uniforms were the school colors: grey. There was also a ridiculously strict hair/hat code: basically everybody had the same hair cut, and no hats whatsoever. It was like one of those dystopic future movies where everyone is identical. Seriously. It was like a death camp.

I hated middle school.
