ok.. i followed armormans tut *thanks armorman helped alot* but now. when i went to save the .scenario it had made the whole folder currepted
the folder and such showed up in the browse window for the launcher but doesnt show up in explorer so thats why i think its currupted.. does anyone have any ideas on helping me?

i still got the .ass file and it compiled properly.. should i reinstall h2ek then try recompilling the .ass file and making the spawns and such again?
also.. whenever i make something in gurella or sapien or something of the such.. it gets currupted 0.0...

Why do you think it's corrupted? Maybe you're just looking in the wrong spot in exploder (it does show up from the launcher, so it's there alright). Maybe check HD for errors, also make sure UAC is turned off.

im 100% sure its in there.. and uac? what you mean if its turned on does it make it so that it sometimes doesnt even compile properly?

In the folder you saved it to there will be a button that says "Compatibility something"(dont know exactly what its called) but its at the top click that and it will show everything in that folder.

Not sure, but it's a gimmick that prevents the total computer noobs from screwing things up. It's the 1st thing i disabled when i got vista. Let's say it's very possible that stuff will not work properly on vista when it's enabled.

well ide like you to know that my problems seem to be gone and now i am downloading bitmaps :D
Edit: well now i need shaders for kornmans multiplayer texture pack anyone know if there is a pack of them or do i need to make them and if i do how?

Yeah you gotta make them, easiest might be to open some existing shaders, then change the bitmap and save it with a different name. Or you could make them from scratch.

Yeah suppose its called 'panel_c.shader', and you changed the bitmap to 'bright_red.bitmap' then its a good idea to save it as 'bright_red.shader'.

No that's level dependent (unless you would want all your shaders in 1 map), did you get the part on the shader_collections.shader_collections file?

yeah i understand on how to rename it and such.. so would it be easier fo rme to put it in the same folder as the texture? it would be alot esier..

I wouldn't recommend it. By the time you made like 20 maps it may be better to organize them properly. But it will work, so do as you please.

crap now i got this error about 8 open edges... any way to connect verticies together to close the edges?

Select the vertices and use the weld function, you may need to increase the range for them to weld.

Select the vertex thingy (the 3 red dots) then under 'edit geometry' is a weld section (maybe you need to click the + to the left of 'edit geometry'), press the selected button and you can set the range to weld right next to it.

I've only seen the corrupt file error when i didn't light a map so i don't know what's wrong then. I could have a peek at your map but that could very well not be the problem, did you mess around a lot with guerilla?

Well, looked at it, exported it, compiled and lighted it, and it loads in sapien without any problems. I am on windows xp but i seriously don't think that's the problem.
Maybe something is wrong with your h2ek install after all, maybe some files are missing or something.

I doubt its that. My editing kit is working fine as it should, even after the update.
Make sure you're not going "compile and light." You need to do each separately; compile only first then light only.
Compile and light will give you a corrupt scenario error.

No. Don't take a plane and tessellate it and move some surfaces upwards to form cliffs. That's the most uncreative, ugly and useless way to make a map. Spend the time putting some effort into it.

Well i gotta draw the line somewhere and i'm off for bed now anyway, you should try figure out why you can't get it into sapien, uninstall the h2ek, install it as administrator (being logged in that way aint bad either) and make sure the uac is turned off. GL!

sounds to me like a shader problem. if i were you i'd save anything you want to keep in your map editor folders, wipe it clean and reinstall.
well thats what i'd do.
do you have the UAC on?
and what ass exporter are you using? ghost's or bungie's?

Corrupt file again? Hmm, maybe have a look (if any) at the debug file(s) in the map editor root map, and... you can run the game can you?

edit: im getting this junk about triangle outside bsp .. it wont harm the compiling right?

Okay... I didn't read any of the topic at all, but when Sapien says a file is corrupt, it means you haven't run photon maps yet. Hope I helped. =p

He means lighting the map. Photon is a lightparticle... do some science if you really want to know (or search the net for that matter).

anyway you have any idea why im getting this error about triangles outside bsp?
should i possibly move the levelroot or the box01 (the map itself) anywhere?

Well, easiest way to find out where they are is to look in sapien, any errors on your map will show up in very clear colors and it also tells you what error it is. So compile and light it and have a look.
Afterwards, if you can't really find it in max you can also import the .wrl file into max so you can also see in max where the trouble is.

um.. also ide like you to know that when i try to load it in sapien it says its currupted.. could it be a messed up file that ide need to delete manually?

Then you would have to check for serious errors during compiling or lighting, yesterday i made some portals in my map and that resulted in a messed up scenario bitmap lighting file, those we're really weird errors, like 'ERROR: @bitmap%12376 #123 x #68712 error, size is incorrect' or something like that.
You could also check if any tag files are read-only, right-click on you tags map then properties, if the read-only checkbox is checked uncheck it.

Thank you. Well to tell you the truth, when im using camtasia, all of my maps fail to load in sapes. So what i end up doing is making another folder and changing the name in my .ass, recompiling again, then changing all of the names in the scenario, lighmap and all that other fun stuff back to the original name while the tut is paused. It works perfectly after that. I have no idea why, but camtasia fucks up compiling... Maybe you had something running in the background that does the same thing as Camtasia?

P.S. I ve been out for a while, so has anyone other than Korn made a map withcustomm vehis or weps yet? Looking forward to seeing one.
Oh yah camtasia is a screen recording program if you don't already know, the best that i know of too.
