768kbps I think. We're using Telus "high-speed" internet.

135 Mbps to the regular internet, 1Gbps to Internet2.
Limited by a 100mbps switch, and since the 135 mbps is 3 DS3s, I can only achieve 45mbps on each connection.

No.

60 Euros = ~80$ for 360 kb/s down (getting 50kb/s download).

I won.

I supposedly get this:
http://www.shaw.ca/en-ca/ProductsServices/Internet/High-Speed/

But it's not true:
http://www.speedtest.net/result/192793358.png

It also dips a lot every now and then. It's not bad but I'd like a stable connection. In a perfect world I'd order this (even though the upload still stinks compared to the download):
http://www.shaw.ca/en-ca/ProductsServices/Internet/Nitro/

And if I get another job I'll upgrade to:
http://www.shaw.ca/en-ca/ProductsServices/Internet/Xtreme-I/

Damn, and I felt lucky when I got 750 kb/sec that one night. This is one of my speed tests from over the summer. Somewhere over the past few months, my connection has died. Don't know what happened.

Dude if you live in the LA area you definitely should be able to get a really high speed internet connection for pretty cheap. Level 3 and UUNet have *HUGE* backbones in LA.

I was looking into FiOS, but Verizon says it's not available in my area :( I'll definitely look into these providers, though. Thanks :)

That won't do you any good :P
They only provide >OC1 to other ISPs really. In LA I'd look at RoadRunner; they're generally decent.

Well I live in the GTA so it'd be more practical to use the New York server.

Distance ain't no issue.

Its rated at 6000/384 I think, the rest is just powerboost. The upload is really terrible after the 5megs of powerboost turn off. 50 a month.

For everyone who has speeds above ~10 Mbit/s, you can't use the speedtest.net app as a reliable measure. Instead, do what I did and use an NDT server.
