I thought Dubai's first artificial island (Burj Al Arab) was a monumental task, but this is just an astounding feat of engineering. Laying out utilities for the completed community must have been a burden in itself, never mind molding solid foundations out of raised seabed.

I watched a program on the Discovery channel about this. I believe it was an episode of Extreme Engineering but regardless, it is amazing.

Saw this on Extreme Engineering. Just goes to show you that the determination and will power of them is not to be underestimated. It's a shame most of america see's them as nothin but taliban terrorists.
