The basics: Downloaded Frostbite.map & Posterity_beta.map, put them into the folder that the server says is the 'custom map folder', load the playlist and get the error 'maps not found'

More Detail: I have already had a working playlist and the posterity.map downloaded on this very same server. It worked just perfect. So now, I'm adding the Frostbite.map to the same folder, and adding that map within the already existing 'posterity.hpl' playlist. Now both maps can't be found.

I blame the latest game/live updates.. But why? More important, is there a work around?

Thanks

HG screwed something up when they did the update. Some older maps aren't compatible anymore or something dumb like that. Great huh? No fix as of yet.

Not sure if i have the same trouble on my server, tried one of my custom maps 2 or 3 days ago and that worked fine. Maybe the authors (or one, e.g. from frostbite) can rebuild their maps to see if it solves your trouble.

I compiled frostbite after the update, so theres nothing really I can do.

Vicky which folder to you keep the custom maps in? and which map works for you? I'd like to try it.

I keep mine in the "c:\program files\microsoft games\halo2 dedicated server\custom maps"
.

Did you make that folder, or was that folder already there...

because I think the custom maps go to C:\Users\<Whatever you are>\Documents\My Games\Halo 2\Maps

At least for me it goes there.

I will try that location. I think it's fine when you only have one dedi server running. As it's the user account that is running the dedi server program. But when you run multiple servers, it's a 'windows service', so the location changes.

Still it's worth a try. Thanks for posting.
