.. take a file and split it into archives, such as .rar. I'm trying to do this to take a file (1.4gb) bigger than the CD capacity is (700mb) and split it into 2-3 archives and burn to the disc(s).
I know theres a way to do it I just forgot how, anyone mind helping?
+Rep to anyone that helps me on this. :)

You can do this with winrar.
If you have it installed you may skip the first two steps.
you can find winrar here (http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm)
install winrar 3.71 (or newest version).
make sure you integrate it with the context menu (this is done automatically unless disabled during installation).
go to your folder or file you want to zip/rar.
right click on it, and select add to archive.
A dialog should now appear on your screen.
You should see a drop down menu/box somewhere in this dialog saying: "spit archive" click on it and select CD700 (a 700 mb CD)
Click on "ok" to start the zipping process.
Burn to your disc's
DONEHope this is enough info to do it :).
