You will be able to run halo 2 and shadowrun at high spec.

4400 doesn't mean 4400 MHz.

That is pretty much the same computer as me except I have the GTS and 4800 and I can run it on High @ 1680x1050.

Your video card is in the same league as mine, except that yours has DX10 support and mine only goes up to DX9c. But I can run the game at 1680x1050 on low-medium (high settings ain't worth it), or 1024x768 on high.
Your computer pwns mine for the most part - you'll run Halo 2 and Shadowrun very well, and you'll run a TON of other PC games very well as well (Shadowrun sucks).

You're PC isn't high end, merely mid range. It will be able to run H2V on high and shadowrun on medium.

actually i found that shadowrun with everything on high and all the fancy stuff, still runs better than h2v.

Whats your computer's score? Just wondering.
If you didnt know control panel/performance tools, than update if it isnt already.

Yes it will run
High isn't worth it for the performance hit, use Medium
If at all possible get Halo 2 for Xbox instead, Halo 2 Vista fails.

No it's not 4400Mhz. The cores run at a way lower clockspeed.

No the core speed is not 4.4ghz, it's 2.2ghz. 4400 is simply the name. It's the same with all of their cpus. Ghz=name/2000 DUMBASS

1. learn to type.
2. With AMD processors, the number (in this case 4400) does not indicate Ghz rating. My AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ runs at 2.2Ghz, but it has the same efficiency/performance as an Intel Pentium D at 3.8 Ghz. The AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ does not run at 4.4 Ghz or 4400 Mhz - it's in fact around 2.0-2.4Ghz depending on manufacturer, but has the same performance as a 4.4Ghz Intel pentium 4. Intel has adopted the same method with its Core 2 Duo and Pentium M processors - my laptop's CPU runs at 2.13Ghz but out-performs even a 3.00Ghz Pentium 4.
3. Shadowrun, like H2V, is solid and playable but not really worth looking at.

Did you OC? Mine runs at 2.0Ghz if I'm not mistaken.

If you're looking to recapture the experience of Halo 2 Xbox with Halo 2 Vista, it's just not going to happen. Get Halo 2 Xbox back if you can, H2V is broken on far too many levels.

Don't get the 8600GT if you like max settings, get the 8800GT. It's around $250 and is just below the 8800GTX.

Nah, Cyberpower gave me a factory-OC'ed version. I don't want to risk OCs performed by my own hand. I know I made a mistake by ordering from Cyberpower (overpriced much) but I was a bit new to building computers back then...now I help friends and cousins select, order, and assemble gaming rigs from scratch.
The 8600 GT can handle all games on max these days, just not on max AND a high res. Not everyone wants to pay more than $100-$150 for a video card.

I can run Halo 2 Vista all max at a great FPS. My specs:
2G ram
dual 4200+ AMD
geforce 7950 GT

Well, that's a Geforce 7950, which is better than the 8600 in every way except that it can't render in DX10. If you have a top-of-the-line card, go run on high - it won't hurt.

I agree, that is a sweet card. I wonder if it'll run better than 2x1950's on crossfire.

true.
And actually the name of the processor is the MHZ rating. The 4400 runs at 2 x 2.2 GHZ, which is why it is the 4400. My 3800 runs at 2x1.9GHz, which is 3800MHZ.

I take it your a Nvidia groupie.
After i hooked my 2nd card up on crossfire it was much more than a noticeable difference.
Please explain how crossfire sucks.. I'd like to know.

Wow, that's embarrassing, you paid for overclocking?
Anyway, those specs will play h2v and likely shadowrun (never seen the min specs).

lol, my 8800 GTX can not "handle all games on max" - think Crysis, etc.

Couldn't you have gotten something better with the money from both X1950 PROs?
