Trading an 8800 GTS for an 8800 GT?

Okay, for the most part I'm satisfied with my 8800 GTS (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130082). But, the drivers are fail and makes last gen games (such as Halo CE) have horrible fps. I get random faces everywhere and my fps drops to about 15 (when in other spots its 600). So, since the 8800GT isn't much more, has more ram than my current card, and has been proven better than the GTS, do you guys think it's a wise decision for me to RMA my old 8800 GTS to EVGA and get this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130302) one instead?

Absolutely. This is by no means a tech site, but upgrade suggestions are generally appropriate in a tech forum (like this mini forum thingy is)

Anyway, I personally wouldn't go out of my way to get an 8800gt, but if you have an evga card, and u can step up to the gt for a few dollars, then go for it.

But, keep in mind, the 8800gt is no the end of the g92 65nm cards. There wil be a new 8800gts (maybe a gtx equivalent also, ie- 8850gtx) using the g92, so it should outperform the gt.

Also, the 8800gt 512mb is supposed to go down to 200$ and a cheaper (~150$) 256mb version will exist eventually.

Save your money, add your christmas money to it, buy a 9 series in the spring.
