It's coming out next Tuesday, who's going to get it? I personally loved Call of Duty 2, and I hope the 4th installment will be as much fun.

I got into the beta. It is quite a bit of fun, and reminds me of a merger of Quake and AA in the sense that you have crosshairs, but they aren't worth shit.

Only thing I didn't like about the beta were the ragdolls and the M4 model. It was just plain ugly.

I really like CoD 4 Cameplay I wasn't a fan of it in CoD 2 or 3 but loved the whole modern feel to it

I have the PC demo. Its alot of fun, but not too realistic or graphically intense.

It feels alomst identical to the animations/gameplay/voices/physics/speed/everything to COD2, except in english, slightly better GFX (wasnt impressed very much on this part), new weapons and vehicles, and levels.

Although it is not what I would consider a high-end FPS, the gameplay of it makes up for its shortcommings. If I werent saving my money for Crysis and NFS Prostreet, I would buy it.

I read in previews that it lacks support for vehicles...that does not sound good but I know that the gameplay rocks.

I just realized that this will be the first CoD game to have an M rating.

oh and the weapon fire sounds makes me want to puke. It sounds like very very similar to the sounds used in GTA san Andreas....

Don't even have enough time for Halo 3, no way I'm dropping $60 on a game I won't get my money's worth out of.

What.

How can there not be support for vehicles? You fly around in a fucking AC-130 killing shit. (I'm not calling you a liar, I am calling Infinity Ward dumb)

Aren't you manning the gunner seat? (according to previews)

Kenney...you are one heck of an audiophile. My ears can’t tell the difference between my $30 “surround sound” system (receiving audio from an on-board sound card) and my car’s Mark Levinson premium audio system…so those weapon sounds won’t matter to me.

i dont mind Wargames on the occasion... but when the series of games goes on for longer then the actual war did i think it's time to move on.

What is up with the reload animations? I have no idea how a mag based firearm is physically reloaded, but do you actually grab the bottom from the mag and push it up into the gun? that seems awkward to me, idk.

Yes.

What, it just magically sticks or something?

the animations are actually very correct, just a little too fast and jumpy for the game speed.

I was using terrible in the sense that they don't look or feel awesome... but the CoD 2 animations were horribly unrealistic as well

Well...
CoD4's are terribly realistic. It also makes sense that they'd be doing them a bit slowly because otherwise you might fuck up and jam the gun.

I just got it today, and it feels just like COD3, except it's just modern. I'd pass this over until the price comes down.

When I played it I happened to not have the game trying to focus on something I'm not trying to, and I can tell my enemies apart from my allies on multiplayer, I think it's alot better than cod3.

That's enough to make me never want to buy this game.

The call of duty series has always had terrible audio.

Also, the Springfield rifle in CoD 3 was the most pathetic piece of shit I have EVER seen come from a professional game company. For gods sake it was an elongated box.

Not all that, but what I'm saying is that they always (or at least from my limited experience with videos) grab the mag's from the very bottom, and kind of 'scoop' them in and out, where in other games the character grabs it from the side and pulls it out and shoves it in.

The AK and SMGs are reloaded in the way you specified. I assume that the M4s and M16s are reloaded that way due to known issues with shitty mags.

Sound sucks. There are still a lot of inaccuracies (the automatic m14 for example. there has not been an automatic m14 in any military since the late 1950's and even then it was the m15 >_<). I was actually rather impressed with the models. They still aren't amazing but better then most game companies.

all in all, this game is fucking amazing. So. Much. Fun.

you don't need to shove mags in. The mag clip isn't like rusted closed. Magazines go in quite easily.

Where are you seeing automatic M14s? All I've seen are the multiplayer ones, and those are standard semi-auto.

Did you mean M16A4s? Yeah, I took issue with them being automatic in SP, too. Good thing the MP developers went 'Hey, fuck you, that's not how it works.'

Is it me, or does Lieutenant Vasquez sound like Sev from Republic Commando? Because if it is him, then, hot damn, I love this game.

that may be but I don't think you understand just how much I HATED the weapon sounds in GTA San Andreas. I've forever been hoping someone will make a weapon sounds pack for the game :(

yah, i dont see how people think that COD 4 is better than H3 (http://www.sucksorrules.com/battles/detail/gaming/158452/call-of-duty-4-vs-halo-3/). Plus they did a really shity job of protecting the game from pirating. RzR-1911 made like a fu***in keygen for it and the iso leaked out like 10 days before it even came out. I think that Activision should have made this game with GWL for like security purposes. I guess the only reason they didnt was because they dint want to support the 360 controller (which all GWL games have to). Oh well better for m... i mean the pirates out there. Its pretty good but H3 is much better.

My mate got it for 360 day it came out. Put the disk in and it freezes on loading. Tried everything pretty much, we think its his 360 but it still sucks balls. I'm praying he will trade it in tomorrow for Assassins Creed.

To People that have it:

What rank are you all at, and what do you use in Create-A-Class?

I am fast approaching Level 31, so these are all subject to change, but what I have includes:

-M16 with Red Dot sight, 2x Claymore, Double Tap, Steady Aim
-M4 With ACOG Scope, 2x C4, Double Tap, Deep Impact
-M60 with Grip, Double Tap, Martyrdom
-Mini-Uzi with Red Dot/ACOG (I switch them often) sights, 2x Claymore, Sleight of Hand, Deep Impact
-AKS-74u with silencer, 2x RPG, Sleight of Hand, Steady Aim

By far Double Tap is my favorite, since it means that I will often get in one more kill than usual due to the enemy having less reaction time.
