View Full Version : Halo 2 Vista Lag with Sound Turned On

Ok, I know my video card is crap, but it does meet minimum! I'm getting a 7800 next week. My problem is that everytime I start the game with out the -nosound I get horrible lag during both Campaign and Multiplayer. It makes the game unplayable. As far as I can tell I have the latest sound drivers though.

Your CPU is only a 2.00Ghz Pentium 4. It will seriously bottleneck your future Geforce 7800.

I think the lag is caused by that crappy CPU trying to process graphics, Windows Vista, and sound all at the same time. Also you may want to double that amount of RAM.

Well, a CPU upgrade is right around the corner as well. Since I really don't have the cash to upgrade to a PCI-E system right now I'm maxing this out, and going to try and find a P4 3.4Ghz. I don't notice my CPU using everything under task manager though.

All you have to do is get a new cpu. Oh and a mb, new ram, new hd, new graphics card, new ps, and maybe a case, that one is looking raggidy. lol, A cpu upgrade is needed, you deffinetly need another gig of ram, and your graphics card is getting dated.
