Ok for all you people out there, I'm right now in the process of creating a trainer for the single player portion of the game. If you have any experience with this sort of work, feel free to make some suggestions. Right now this trainer will have God mode, infinite ammo, infinite gernades, and others as I think of them. I know the game has debugging protection, but i think Ive come up with a way to circumvent this. So if you would like to help in anyway, just let me know.

There has already been a trainer released, 4 months ago.

The best trainer is practice. Whats the point of playing if your cheating? Just my opinion.

Oh wait theres the achievement thing. But if your cheating your not really achieving anything are you?

Sorry i hate trainers. I dont even know why there called trainers, they just make you bad at a game.

They should be called Cheat Engines!

Owait, theres already a Cheat Engine...

Do you have any experience with making trainers or programming? Right now, you've got a lot of "it'll do this" and "it'll do that," and some "I'm looking for help."

Yup, I made one me and my friends used for battlefield 2 and also the orignal half life. Code injections, pointers, everthing like that. What makes this different is when you try to debug and dissassemble, it causes the halo2.exe file to crash. Its what makes me once again want to put my middle finger up to microsoft. And I was asking for any suggestions, not for help per say. The only thing i would ask for help on is the built in anti cheat mechanism. If anyone has any suggestions on that. Feel free to post them and Ill give them a try. ive already found the beginning hex values for unlimited ammo in the clip, which would allow you to keep firing without reloading. It works, but the value changes at every checkpoint, so without being able to disassemble, it makes it a little difficult

Stop there and think for a minute. Not everyone uses cheats because they're too noob to beat a game. I ALWAYS beat the game on the hardest setting the honest way, and then...I turn on cheats like god mode and "spice up" the gameplay.

For example, in Half-Life 2 I've turned on god mode and used nothing but the crowbar for the entire game, except at spots where certain weapons MUST be used.

In the CMT Halo mod, I used infinite ammo to make some pretty glorious explosions happen all at once, and succeeded in launching the Scorpion sky high. I even used god mode once, charged into a group of Flood, and ran around until they all gunned EACH OTHER down. Was I cheating? Yes. Was I using the cheat because I was too noob? No. Was I having fun that I normally couldn't have without cheats? Hell yeah.

The real purpose of cheats is to be able to RE-play a game in an abnormal manner. I support this guy's trainer project, because I've been itching to do explosive-aided jumps in H2V the way I could do so in Halo Custom Edition. Or play around when being 100% surrounded by enemies. Cheats can make the gameplay hilariously fun in ways that wouldn't be possible when the game is played the honest way.

I never beat the game on hard, I just use trainers on easy my first try! Im a rebel... :(

yeah, I encountered the same problem. It limited me to only doing really simple stuff. I don't know any way around it.

I wasnt saying people who use trainers or cheats are all noobs, i was just saying i'd rather not use them and do not like them. Just my opinion. I'd rather play a game how it was intended. i'm sure there are many experienced people using them just for thrill, but i do not.

Hell if another one comes out for halo 2 i might just try it out.

Hey, try doing god mode and whacking every enemy to death using a plasma pistol (weakest melee in the game). It's one of the most fun ways to play Halo. Or use god mode to run around and cause your enemies to hurt each other, while you don't fire any weapons.

It's good that you like playing the honest way - all of us prefer it. But really, you gotta try using cheats to play games in ridiculous ways.

Here's another example: In Goldeneye, there's one part where triggering the alarm spawns infinite enemies. I got the infinite health cheat, and laughing maniacally, I triggered the alarm on purpose and shot up those poor Russians for two hours, killing several thousand before my thumbs cramped up. Oh god, happy times.

Im not sure what happens, I have tried many times to get the addresses, but as soon as the game un frezes 2 seconds later it crashes. I wonder how skyline and others got there addresses :/ (oh well superbounces rule)
We didn't do anything special, just ordinary scanning and filtering.

Halo 2 and Kernel trace API calls...there is a way to stealth yourself.

why not put cheats in there like Invisibility, High Jump, All Vehicles, and All Weapons?

and maybe, if possible, Time Freeze.

Does Halo 2 Vista try to detect debuggers or does it just not like being disassembled? I'm a little confused by what you're saying.

I have experience making trainers, loggers, etc. etc. but I have no interest in helping to be honest :P

Patrickssj6
November 26th, 2007, 12:57 PM
Kybo you should know that no modern game can have a debugger attached to it :P

What it does I think (roughly) it traces API calls...Kernel calls like Read/Write Process Memory.

Don't you love this? :awesome:

Someone has made a "teleport" trainer that can teleport you up or down the z axis

"someone" added support for X and Y axis as well. not just Z anymore :D
