Hey everyone. I lost my Halo 2 Vista CD a few days ago when I reinstalled it, and because I reinstalled Windows Vista so I can't use the same code again. I called Microsoft today and to get a new serial, I need the Part Number, which is on the front of the disk in the silver area.
It looks like
X ######
Could anyone give it to me? And YES I do own the game, my non-working key is:
6Q??7-G??BC-D?CY2-9?2P?-8D??6 (not giving full code)

Yes but you see, I installed it on my laptop, but don't use it. Therefore, I want it on my PC and it won't work. I'd use the laptop but right now it lacks a charger, as the battery is messed up(HAS to be connected to charger) and I'm going to buy a new battery so I can barely use it atm.
It's not a serial, just the Part # on the CD.... Next time I'm taking better care of my CDs... :(

Take it back to the shop and ask to replace it.

I'll try, but I won't be able to today. Probably on the weekend I can take it to the shop.

I have halo 2 installed on my old computer and once i finished building my new one i tried to install halo 2 on it the serial wouldnt take. So i called the service number and told them i upgraded my HD and the game wouldnt install. They didnt ask me for anything but the key. Maybe i got lucky.
P.S. they don't give you a new key they give you like a 25 digit conformation number <--estimated.

If you legally own the game, it's legal to download an ISO of the DVD and just burn yourself a copy... Or just do what I do and make a virtual copy of all your games and just mount them, that way, even if you loose a disk, you can still play.
^All perfectly legal if you own the game, no piracy discussion there.

Well apparently this guy wants me to give a Part #, which is on the front side within the silver middle. He said after that they'd give me a new serial. The Part # or whatever it is called is like, X #####, and since I can't find the disc, I'm screwed.
And everyone thinks I'm trying to get the game for free, despite showing I already had a code so now one is helping me anywhere. :(

Do you take us to be fools? You could easily bull crap that key sequence or take a friend's key and throw in a couple ?s and claim it's yours.
99% of the time, people in your position are looking for a free game, why should this be any different?

I'm telling you, they dont give you a new serial number. What you give you is an activation number and after that you can install the game to the same computer again and again. They dont want you to install the game on multiple computers. When you buy the game your basicly just buying the serial.
