But a 32-bit version of Vista. Is it a hella bitch to upgrade? I looked around but all I could find was about people upgrading from XP to Vista 64.

If you have a retail version of vista, non-OEM, you can choose to have 32-bit or 64-bit when you install.

Its just a mtter of time till 64-bit takes over. There is only so much that can go in 4GB of memory. Also how can computer users ever move forward if we cling to outdated 32-bit. I love 64-bit it runs much faster for me but I just wish it could run 32-bit programs better. But I love native 64-bit support in Ubuntu, but hate finding compatible drivers.

I do agree with 32-bit being abit better for now, just because software vendors haven't made the move yet to 64-bit.
I don't have 64-bit windoze, just 32-bit because I don't want to have to buy another version of XP when I have a fine OEM disc. I <3 Freeware.

Welcome to the present day. The door between the past and present is kinda big, so I can understand you not realizing you went through it.

They both preform on par. 64-bit actually excels at some points, seeing how there are things Vista can only do in a true 64-bit mode.

Sorry but the computer world doesn't work that way. The day you buy a computer is also the day it gets outdated. Where is the point? There is none, but we do it anyways. :)

I've been running 64 bit Vista since like a month after launch and I haven't to this day had any issues with drivers. Motherboard (G965 based), GPU (Nvidia), SB Audigy 2 ZS, Logitech G15, hell even my ancient printer had the proper drivers.

My only bitch is that Vista x64 takes up a huge amount of ram (idling it takes up like 30&#37; of 4 gigs). Then again, to this day I haven't hit even close to like 70% RAM, so I don't really care either way.
