my framerate was dropping just looking at the jpegs of that thing.
It's nifty, but it still sucks. Needs more modeling skill.
But yes, still awesome. Makes me want one that is actually a good model.

...you draw some fucking boxes....it is not more complicated then that i shit you not. everything built with hammer is made from boxes and pre-made models imported into the source engine.

never tried ut. all i know is hammer gives you have square results. you can make things round but your maps for the most part are very boxy. just looks at everything they did for css, hl, and dod. that's what i hate most about it.

Well, in terms of detail and complete-ness, it's a good achievement that the developer can be proud of. When I say it's ugly, I mean that it just looks ugly in terms of artistics. Not bad effort though.

It's a VMF, so apparently it doesn't. The explosion probably does, though.

It's possible to make things look much better, but the effort just isn't given. I mean, look at Episode 2 for Half Life. There's a lot better modeling attempts made in that compared to the prior releases. What it comes down to is people start off by making their layouts and once that's done they dont take the time to really build in detail and immersion.

Yeah, I'm no modeler, but to voice an opinion, that Draco thing looks like a Rhombus with a little thing on the bottom and an engine, the other things looks like a jet more than a cruiser, the model this thread is one has depth and dimension, and it overall looks like more thought went into it.

What you should do is take the standard Pillar of Autumn model and create the entire interior, then make it a playable multiplayer map. That would be awesome.
