so, does anyone xfire ingame chat work for halo pc/ce ?

it seems a few updates ago or something it just stopped working, in fact, in the "detect games" settings, there isnt even an option to disable xfire ingame, because it isnt available in the 1st place.. :S

i tried adding the necessary shit to the xfire_games.ini to enable ingame chat, and it showed up as being available in the settings, but alas, still doesnt work.

anyone know of a fix, or if your halo ingame chat works, post your halo sections in your xfire_games.ini and your xfire version...

very frustrating having to minimize and get text lag just to read a xfire message. :mad:

Thats what Kiwi does.

Either way Xfire really only works sometimes, and in my case only when I don't need it. Thats why I just made a switch to windowed :|

Yes it is Kiwi's way of talking. Also I play in windowed mode too. It is a lot easier to chat but on the downside your FOV is decreased.

ROFLMAOLOL. Phew that made me laugh. But also I did notice that the in game chat doesn't work. Well kinda doesn't work. You can still type when you click scroll+x but it doesn't tell you when you get messages.

It works for like 20 mins tops, then dies, until I restart, and Id play windowed, but my shit graphics card skips in windowed >_<

oh, could that explain why halo crashes when I use xfire? It's the default skin.

Yeah, the Shadow skin supports ingame, it just takes a while to get used to it.

I don't know, I hardly bother with Xfire ingame anymore. It used to be such a nice program, but now every update just makes it more fail. I guess the devs don't understand the axiom 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'.

I do, and it's worse that way. When I get a message it pops up on top of CE, yet the focus is still on CE. I'll still have full control of the game but with an Xfire window blocking part of it. It's annoying.

Yeah that's how it is for me now too, I have to Alt+Tab back to Halo constantly :\
