An appropriate poll as the holiday season approaches, assuming you get snow where you live ;)

Skiing for me.

I have to say I like skiing, myself, but if I have to choose to be on a slope with skiiers or snowboarders, I'd choose the snowboarders. Skiiers tend to be douchebags on the slope, weaving around people and getting in REALLY close to pass, snowboarders tend to keep their distance. So basically, I'm a skiier, but FUCK skiiers, those ignorant douches.

I've never done either since I live in SoCal where we get no snow ever =(.

Hell, I've never been out of this half of the state =(.

I do both, <3 Skiing though, I usually use Snow Blades though (the really short skis, like 3ft long).

Boarding is better for tricks though.

Not a fan of dirt-skiing, eh? I'll have to look for more idiots distinguished people to join my land-skiing club. Any takers?

It's just so much easier to do tricks on a snowboard. So the regular stuff at the top of the mountain in the bowl with the powder is still just as good as skiing, but even when you're near the bottom and there's slush or ice you can still have a blast doing tricks.

It's the complete opposite here, more snowboarders are asses than skiers. o_o

I prefer a nice, steep hill and one of those suicide sleds, seeing as how I can't snowboard or ski. You know, the kind of sled that's just a thin piece of flexible plastic. Oh, and then a big snowbank to crash into at the bottom. :D

Sleds? Skis? Snowboards? Fuck it - just roll down the hill - it builds character.

I like Snowboarding, I can't ski for shit, but I'm decent with a snowboard.

Snowboarding FTFW. Skiiers in the northeast...ie Killington etc. are a bunch of pricks. At least snowboarders are nice people and won't cut you off at every chance.

P0lar, lets go bomb a hill sometime! haha

Sandboarding, now there's something I wanna try. Nothing like the threat of getting your face ground off to discourage you from wiping out. ;D

e: also, in my experience, skiiers and snowboarders generally try to be polite, but due to a fundamental difference in style, skiiers tend to get in the way of snowboarders and vice versa.

Well, I snowboard like a skiier, I'm all about carving and big cutting big swathes into the side of the mountain. Weaving in and out of trees, moguls, skiiers and boarders alike. Yet the prime difference is that I give people a wide berth, I personally act as though everyone is on the verge of falling so as to not get anyone injured should they actually fall or do something erratic. Skiiers don't seem to give such courtesy, they seem to like cutting it as close as they can and disturbing the peace...

Then again, i have been known to just bomb straight down the middle of the run as fast as I can possible go in a straight line with a 'fuckem' mentality. :D

Skiing tbh. I've pretty much been doing it since I was 4, and I don't plan on snowboarding any time soon.

I skied once. It was the easiest crap in the world. So I went to snowboarding and love it SOOO much more.

BTW, my first (and only) set of skis I picked up from a thrift store for like $40 and they are pretty decent too. Their name, is my name. I thought it was ironic that skis would be named SMASH, so I took the name for myself.

The only people I know who ski and not snowboard are people with bad coordination...

:iia:

Also, try sledding naked. It's loads of fun.

...until your penis gets frostbite. Then it's only a little fun.

Funniest thing I ever saw was 3 people streaking down the mountain on snowboards in view of literally hundreds of people. When I say streaking, I mean the completely naked kind of streaking. The had nothing on except for their giant padded snowboarding boots. It was awesome.
Before you ask, yes it was 3 girls. It was really awesome.

There was a video posted on that could be or could not be the same...don't ask me where though =) You can find it...

Skiing is really fun, I prefer that over Snowboarding.

Except that I haven't snowboarded in years. :|

Snowboarding was too hard for me to learn. I couldn't master the art of standing still with the board attached to my legs and I literally broke my ankle.
