So all I want to know is if I have an EVGA 8800 GTS, and I buy an 8800 GT, would SLIing them work? Tbqh I honestly don't know, and I'd appreciate the answer. (I think it would work, but you never know... I don't want to fuck anything up =p)

No. Only CrossfireX supports different cards right now...

Actually, you can SLI a 8800GTX with an 8800 ULTRA. But the ultra will run at GTX speeds. I think the same with the GTX and a GTS (g80) and the GTX will run at GTS speeds. How ever, doing either of the following is pointless, even if it was able to with the GT and GTS (g92), they would both run at GT speeds, so it would make more economical sense just to use 2 of the same cards.

GTX and Ultra are pretty much the same card to begin with. Also, you should throw a 3rd GTX into that rig. :awesome:

I think my third pci_e slot runs at 8x if I put a third card in it. Besides, there is no game right now that my system can blaze through at 60+ fps with maxed settings other than crysis, and crysis sucks ass and the engine very graphically inefficient, nor does it even support SLI. So as of right now, its not worth is.

Another tip however, don't bother with SLI unless you want to run your games at high resolutions. At mainstream resolutions, (1280x1024, 1440x900, or 1280x800, etc) the performance gain will barely be noticeable with maybe at best a 20% - 40% increase in performance. Only at resolutions > 1600x1050 and 4x - 16x AA, would their be significant performance increases around 60% - 90% with SLI.
