Alright, im looking for a free screen capturing program that will work ingame. I have Fraps and Camtasia, but Fraps drops my FPS down from 30 while playing Lineage 2 to 8, and Camtasia isn't meant for games. I need something that will record nice and smooth, and also wont take up 8 damn gig for 10 minutes of video. It's hard to record a damn siege in lineage 2 with 300 people charging at you where you need to be able to react fast and see everything smoothly with 8 damn FPS. Anyone have any recommendations?

Alright ill download GameCam and test it out later. We got a siege coming up in about 3 hours that should be about 500 vs 500, so its gonna be interesting to see if i get some better FPS while recording. My FPS is good with everyone screen.. but when i hit record.. ><

This same thing happens to me, I also got Fraps and Camtasia but they don't do so good for recording. I'll try out the GameCam

camtasia does perfectly fine for any game.
if it makes stuff go slow, it's because of your harddrive speed.
that's really the bottleneck on these kinds of things.
lowering your resolution really helps a heap when you've got a bad recording speed. dualcore processors also give it a huge bump up.

I use fraps and it works fine for me, but camtasia is ok. I could never install Gamecam. It says that the wmpcds8 failed to install. Can anyone help me with that?

I tried gamecam. It sucks cause i have to record in such a low resolution, but its good enough for what i wanna record, so its fine. I need to buy the full one now ._.
