ok im tired of not being able to host games and have nobody being able to join that game. (ut3, halo, etc you know what im talking about propably)
so i'm like has to do with opening ports and shit.
"and shit" yeah, because past that, i has no clue of how to do it.
this is a printscreen of my router setup, im guessing that's where i change stuff, but i haven't got a clue of what to do.
i entered a test thing, just to show i dont know what im talking about.
it also just occurred to me that maybe it has to be done in DOS, i dunno. help would be greatly appreciated

Go HERE (http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Siemens/GigasetSX551/GigasetSX551index.htm) and choose the game/program you are trying to open a port for. It should help.

Try following the tutorial for Unreal Tournament 2004 and see if that makes a difference. If not, just undo everything you did.
I suggest this because Unreal Tournament and UT2004 both use the same ports so there is a good chance UT3 does as well.

Are you sure that 192.168.2.2 is the internal IP of your computer? I found that mine changed every time the router was reset (which makes a lot of sense, i'm just an idiot). So check the DHCP table to find your computer, it should be under the status tab.

(This is directed at Tweek)If it changes every time then you have a dynamic IP address. There is a tutorial on the portforward site I linked to that will tell you how to set up a static IP address.

The way I found my DNS on XP was to go to Network Connections from My Computer, then under where it says Network Tasks on the left click View network connections. Right Click on whichever one is your Internet Connection and choose Status. Click the Support tab and then choose Details... There you will find all the details about your internet connection.

That's what mine says as well and it worked for when I was opening ports for BitTorrent.

well when i use that one to set a static ip, everything stops working alltogether, the tut on that site you liked me to set up a static IP said if your internet stops working, its most propably the DNS. maybe i was just wrong though. i think ill try again today.

Go to http://whatsmyip.org to find out your static ip... it should be displayed at the top. At least, it always displays my static ip. =p

Of course that IP is always static because that's the external one and doesn't affect your router forwarding in any way, making your post regarding this topic, useless.
