My family draws names from a hat on Thanksgiving, and we all do a Secret Santa deally. The two grandparents and two children are excepted, so everyone buys something for them.

I got my mother a pair of fuzzy slippers; something she's wanted for a while. I WAS going to get her a DVD burner until one of my checks decided to do an impression of a superball under a table. :|

I got the two kids in the collective family $25 Target giftcards each, my grandmother is getting Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix (DVD), my grandfather is getting a Home Depot giftcard (forgot the amount, either $25 or $50), and my aunt, whom I drew the name of, is getting a $50 Target giftcard.

I, on the other hand, haven't the faintest fucking idea on what I'm getting. :v I gave my Newegg (https://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.asp?ID=3861589) wish list to the family, and then amended a couple GBA and NDS games, a popcorn kettle + seasonings (kettle corn is the best), and as an OBVIOUS joke, an XBox 360 Pro bundle (YEAH RIGHT :haw:). Also, Guitar Hero 3 for PS2, and some odds and ends for my car.

I was told that my Christmas is going to be awesome, so I'm excited. I'm not expecting to get everything on my list, but I'm not going home empty-handed, apparently.

I had mother's-house-christmas a couple of hours ago.

I got $160 towards a monitor (that was the constraint tied to the money they gave me. I'm cool with that.), a box of chocolate covered macadamia nuts (they are awesome), a pomegranate, altoids, a pen, salsa flavored pistachios, a giant flashlight, Holidays on Ice by David Sidaris, and Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson.

I gave to my mom, Holidays on Ice by David Sidaris (the same thing she gave to me, it turns out) and There Is Nothing In This Book I Meant To Say by Paula Poundstone (a comedian she likes)

And I gave to my (almost) stepdad, a flashlight keychain thing with a swivel magnet on the end, for sticking to stuff, and a tiny headlamp. He gave me the giant flashlight, so it turns out we both gave each other flashlights :P

So yeah, I gave books and flashlights and got books and flashlights... and money :D

Real Christmas is tomorrow for me, I'll post what I get then.

Not everyone has parents capable of shelling out over $100 in one shot, even around Christmas. The world doesn't come to a crashing halt around Dec. 24; bills still need to be paid, and shit happens.
