is there a tutorial on how to replace certain things in maps and add tags and stuff like that? like change the H1 master chief to H2/3 in a certain map and add vehicles weapons maybe scenery
or can someone just tell me how to in one post?
like how they made those map varients (not sure if I asked this before but if I did I probably didn't get any answers)

Change the biped in Tags/Globals/Globals.globals using guerilla.
Any level you compile will have the modified globals imported.
I'd give you more information but I don't have the programs right next to me

Use Halo Editing Kit plus to open an existing map in Halo Custom Edition/Maps and extract all the tags. In it should be a .scenereo tag. You can rename that tag and compile it, it'll also compile your modified globals into it, and it should work.

I find it funny that you are trying to help someone when you can't even spell scenario correctly.

1 shadow spartan was that comment necessary?
and when I try extracting all tags I normally get things like this
An Exception occured within the program, it is advised to contact a developer
so this issue can be fixed.

Yes it was necessary. If you are trying to help someone you should be 100% sure of what you are telling them, or else it could confuse and mess up the person you are trying to help.
On the HEK+ issue, its seems as if you're program is corrupted. Download the latest version here (http://www.cmt.h2vista.net/masters/Halo%20Editing%20Kit%20Plus%20Most%20updated%20as% 20of%2012-17-06.rar).

Your tags are messed up.
In your HCE root directory there is a debug text file. Open it up and paste the LAST error in the file and post it here.

Okay, well I'm sorry that I mispelled a word that I don't spell on an everyday basis... but, I ask you, did I give bad information? ;)
Now if it had been something like "omg srsly 2 git a senereo tag 2 yooz u hav 2 opin teh .map file n HEK+ n ekstrakt teh kontent n2 files u can modefy n GARRILLUH DOT EE EX EE" that'd be understandable.
GEEZ SORRY FOR HELPING OUT GOSH

If you want to mod existing maps, try Halo Hacker Tools (HHT). It's kind of like HMT for any version of Halo 1's maps; XBox, PC, and CE.
Though I'm gonna warn you right now: don't EVER release any modifications of existing maps, unless you have the permission of the creator to do so. If you look at Halomaps, there are a number of shitty map rehashes in the Modified Maps category. Please don't join those ranks.

yeah the newer things added to debug is REALLY long so I might just slowly learn this abit
plus I deleted the scenario file I'll try again when I have more time
and I'm surprised this thread made it to the 2nd page
I was sorta wanting to edit coldsnap abit to make the gameplay maybe abit more fiar and add bipeds like you don't start with a c4 cause c4 switching is just stupid and almost noone ever uses the c4 in coldsnap except to c4 switch
and add like the newer pelicans and add H2/3 suit and stuff like that and add some base like structures around coldsnap so incase people had to walk after falling out of a jet or something or surviving a "crash"
anyways I give up again for now I'll just try again when I'm in "the mood" and polar bear if I ever figure out what to do I won't release that map so umm well I don't think you'd worry about it so I'm not going to say don't worry about it

Coldsnap never extracts right; the scripts required for a lot of the things that make the map work fuck up and you end up with a broken map.
Coldsnap is fine the way it is. The map isn't the problem; it's the fucktards playing it that are.

well.. yeah true though the choice of weapons at the begining isn't all necessary like well the only weapon any ever uses on coldsnap mainly is that sniper rifle noone ever really uses the AR or the C4 unless some retard starts the c4 switching stuff though it's funny to kill them before they can switch so it becomes betrays instead of kills

Punctuation.
Also, I wouldn't want to "edit" the maps. You should look into the development process.
Next also, why did you create a new user account on your pc, if all that happened is explorer.exe crashed. There was a way faster way to fix the problem, and not bog Windows down more than it already is. :cop:

umm would you mind telling me what that is incase it happens again?
cause i closed windows explorer and started it up again but it still doesn't respond so I deleted that account and transfered everything over to another

When you delete an account, all windows does it lock it down and remove it, it doesn't get rid of the files because of the "system protection." So that just slows down the computer more.
Anyways, I would suggest just being patient, you could manually start up another instance of explorer.exe, but before you do that I would close down anything that you could, making sure not to lose any unsaved work. Then start explorer. Then just wait, in a second windows should restart itself, refresh the desktop and startbar and be ready to go again. If all else fails, just hardboot the machine.
