Sounds interesting.

No way I'm going to fork over another $2000 just for some slight issues with speed, though UVW Unwrapping multiple objects would make it faster.

Not to mention Blitzkrieg wouldn't work with the new builds anyway.

It's worth an upgrade in my opinion. Then again, I use it more for simple level design. My college's DIGM program has some game development classes that use Max 8, so I'm not sure if we'll bump up to 2008.
*sigh*
I wish I knew max scripting well enough to write exporters/etc. I'd like to make a really nice modern city scene before summer gets here. 2008 would be great for that.
