Alright, I'm looking for a new gaming chair, my mother wants to throw out this old lazyboy, so she's going to pay for half the cost... I'm looking at something awesome like this:
http://www.ultimategamechair.com/
I don't really like the design though. Also note that I'm looking for a CHAIR, not an entire desk thing....

How much do you have to spend on a chair?

$125 if you want to get a chair like this. I have 4 from being the first in line at the Halo 3 launch. 1 in 2500.

I can't stand inflatable chairs.
I agree, nothing beats a big office chair.
Nice new G15 in that pic

Damn kids wanting to use sofas and office swivel chairs for their fancy-pants SLI-DirectX 10 gaming rigs. Why, back in my day, we'd use unsanded, unstable wooden chairs that would break every other week while playing Minesweeper, and we LIKED IT!
(relatively true story. I mostly use cheap wood chairs that break often playing 5-7 year old, but :awesome: games like Starcraft and Doom and Marathon)
Anyways, office chair FTW. It's a bonus if you can lock the seat in position and/or the wheels. At least, it is for me, because I like to lean the chair itself back often, or just lean against it.

For those games, you NEED some place to lean your back against or else you'll be walking like the Hunchback of Notre Batch.

I am in need of a new chair as well. This one's getting kinda sad. It has a big rip and two exposed screws that form a happy face on the top surface...as if it's smiling at my ass or something.

Costs only a few dollars. If you break it, just steal another from an outdoor eating place :P

(Ignore the cat)
I was driving around UNL's campus this summer and I saw this kid moving out. It looked like he was having some problems, so I pulled over and offered to help. We got everything loaded up in his truck and then realized there was no room for this nice, leather chair he had. He talked to me for a bit and then offered me the chair in return for the help I gave him. I was pretty reluctant at first, but I said fuck it and put it in my Bronco.
The chair is ridiculously comfy and has no wear on it. If I were you, I'd try to find one at a garage sale or something. In any case, good luck hunting!

I had a cheap mesh backed chair, real comfortable, but apparantly my spin is to pointy and I wore a hoel through it. But it was nice while it lasted. It was a $30 chair.

artillery, what are you, anorexic? Your spine shouldn't be like that.

lol, that cracked me up. ^^
On the subject of the matter tho, I would say get one of those executive office chairs. Get a nice one with the arms and padding and stuff. I've had mine so long and sat in it to much that I have an arse print and a cod piece formed in the seat. Too bad I'm at home without it though. Sitting on a drum set stool is a pain in the butt... literally!

I'm not anerexic, I'm just really thin. I'm 5'10" and only weigh 125lbs, but I'm built as a runner, cross country. Maybe I should also mention that the chair was from IKEA. Also that I sit with my knees up to my chest on the chair when I game. Oh, and I had to get a new chair because I snapped the welds on the bottom of the chair when I leaned back to far. It was only held on by 4 tig welds. Then I reattached it with my weld, only to find that the phnematic cylinder's button that connects to teh handle had melted to be stuck in the move up and down position. I solved that with ducktape until I got my new chair.

Dear god why have you sinned against humanity??? Ikea products are horrible. I work as a furniture mover (i've seen a lot of nice AND shitty furniture), and I can assure you that Ikea's products are horrible from a design standpoint, as well as just for moving.
Thank you for mending your ways, though.

Your not supposed to move IKEA furniture, its freaking partical board. I have a desk from there that will not leave my room before I leave this house. Its massive and weights a good 80-90lbs I choose it because it had a large surface and was the right size for the corner of my room. I would never have IKEA furniture in any place but my first house/apartment or a college dorm.
Think the Particle Board song (http://myspace.com/76122608)

I've moved about 20+ desks, each weighing 250+ pounds each (with another coworker, of course) up and down stairs. Also, don't get me started on filing cabinets. FULL filing cabinets.

By massive I mean it takes up about 1/4 of the floor not counting the round middle part.
On the other had my room is tiny, only about 100 sq ft. Its akward shaped.
