Keylogging attempt warning.

When i was reading a topic on editing halo PC light maps. I suddenly got a aim message with a guy named orangegekoMaster asked me to be part of his "project" and test some menu app. When i recived the file as a .zip file i did my normal routine with files like this and saved it in asecure area and scanned it with avast. RIGHT when i scanned it it found the aradamax key logger on it. I know what this is because i see SO many youtube videos on makeing keyloggers like this.

ROFL!! I use that app all the time.It helps change the contrasts of light. Thats why CMT maps always have such dark shadows, but overly bright and shiney other places. It's no keylogger.

Okay. I clicked his "chatlog". Am I or am I not infected with a keylogger? The computer I'm posting from right now has no anti-virus software aside from anything that Windows XP comes with. If so, could someone please direct me towards a remedy?

*sigh* it's 11:30PM for me and I don't feel like doing much explaining but I can tell you this; Virus Scanners search for specific signatures inside executables or dynamic library files...APIs like GetKeyState, RegStoreKeyEx etc. and if those key sequences are stored somewhere...the virus scanner will detect that and think it's a keylogger.
