I was about to post some new tech stuff when I realized it was all shown at CES 08.

Curved Display:

http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/07/video-alienwares-curved-display-caters-to-gamers/

First thing I think when I see this is enhanced simulators and the potential to have 360 degree panoramic displays like those from UC 0080 and onward in the original Gundam universe.

Split-screen evolved:

Seemingly realistic mission impossible video glasses:

82 inch TV:
http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/06/video-82-inch-4k-sony-prototype-display-gets-showcased/

wonders of the sony press conference:
http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/06/live-coverage-from-sonys-ces-press-conference/
I mean come on, wtf?

108 inch LCD comming soon:

O______O
That's bigger than me

Argh why would she want to play WoW on that. Such a waste :(

Also, they boast this fast response time, but the human eye won't notice it anyway. It's just a bunch of :words:

Lmao, that one guy talking about hte glasses is hardcore. Hr stutters at that chick like as if hes never seen tits before xD

Holy fuck Random, hf o/

I would love to play WoW on that. I could actually see my character with all my addons and not having to tone down the UI scale.

I would not like it so much in FPS cause I would have to actually turn my head to see my HUD.

No you wouldn't. It's called peripheral vision. Wow would just look stupid. This huge big giant screen with this tiny moving figure sitting in the middle of it.

Only if you sit right next to your monitor.

There was also a 150 inch Plasma TV there. Was featured on Yahoo yesterday.

That 150 plasma would probably burn a hole in the wall... are you sure it wasn't LCD tv?

I was hoping to see an evolved version of the ASUS XG Station (premiered at CES 2007).

The split-screen solver thing is cool though. Only problem is that with such a TV, if you're outputting two different kinds of media at the same time, both users would have to wear headphones.

Not if it's comming from the same application. Think Halo splitscreen with four players.

I agree, that needs to hurry up and get released.

Definitely plasma. Wasn't a thin plasma TV, mind you though.
