Wow a tornado hit my city yesterday at noon 1-10-2008, and I didn't know tell I saw the 10:00pm news. All I saw and heard was really loud thunder that made the windows shake like hell and really hard hail for like 2 minutes. Just about 6 miles from where I live. It wasn't that big of a tornado, but still scary. It flipped a semi-truck though and did quite a bit of damage.

I Love wild weather :)

I've had this goal for as long as i can remember, "Live through a cyclone/hurricane"
i reckon it would be one Hell of an experience.

And that's why its good to live in a state with mountain ranges. 1. No floods. 2. Especially no tornadoes.

It is indeed one of the best experiences I've experienced. On one of the hurricanes that passed through PR (Hurricane George), I decided to go outside to our garage (it was one of those garage that had a cage instead of a door) It gets pretty intense when the eye passes over your area, me and my friends would try to do a race around the block on our bikes during the 2 minutes the eye was on top of us. And the sky in the middle of the eye, is simply amazing. Completely clear night sky, and if you are in a high area, you can see the walls of the eye. And after everything is over, our neighbors and us would have a get together BBQ while the light came back (Usually came back 2 days after the hurricane ended). Now that I think about it, one of the best family moments I've had were during and after hurricanes.

its weird though where I live its really not flat land. I live on the vally floor but the mountains are really close by and all around. The red star is the city I live in.

Cough, earthquakes.

Also pollution.

Earthquakes happen once every few years. And they are usually minor and lasting for only two seconds. A major quake hits about every twenty years. And pollution isn't really a major concern for since it recently rained a lot and I don't live in L.A.

Santa Cruz, CA is a very clean place to live, we're near mountain ranges, and we basically don't get natural disasters. The epicenter of the next big earthquake won't affect us as badly as the '89 quake. It's fucking expensive, though. You need over a $50,000 a year salary to live decently :/

I'm surprised that my family hasn't moved.
