So yeah, just a quick survey to see what the majority is, possibly use these statistics for my assignments.
Im a lefty (woot) and pretty much everyone I know is right handed, it does make a difference, everyday life things are made harder because I'm lefty :(

Righty, but I am able to write with my left hand, just horrible at it. The letters are all misshapen and odd-looking.

Lefty ftw. However, absolutely NOTHING is life is hard, at all. Maybe I'm actually ambidextrous, who knows?

It's almost always a 1 to 7 ratio... period. Even in old paintings (before lefties were persecuted). Even in *animals*.

Strange thing is, I write with my right hand, but I use a fork with my left hand... ambidexterious mb?
Timo
January 26th, 2008, 11:29 PM
Isn't the fork on the left side of the plate when you're eating, regardless of what hand is better? Also, I use my right hand for the mouse although I can just as easily use the left (except for playing games), and I use the default controller schemes.

Yeah, but doesn't normal right-handed people use the fork with their right hand? I use it with my left for some reason. I guess I tried it at a younger age and it stuck with me...

Lefty ftw. However, absolutely NOTHING is life is hard, at all. Maybe I'm actually ambidextrous, who knows?Well, not like ultra hard which makes it practially impossible, but there are alot of things that lefty's find alot harder than rightys, just because they were designed for rightys. You never think about it, it never even crossed my mind till I actually though hold up I'm lefty, maybe its that an not just me being an idiot.
Scissors are a bitch to use, because the way the blades are lined up
Knifes are curated on the wrong side
Writing, left to right is extremely hard for leftys
It just means we have to adapt more to the world, like using the mouse in right hand, its not a massive problem, just means its a bit weaker.

Buy left hand scissors, and don't use fountain pens :p

Actually the local computer store is seeing if there's a G5 lefty mouse available for custom order.
Gotta love that Logitech's CEO (last I checked) is a southpaw :)

right handed people supposedly put the knife in their right and their fork in the left. i say fuck that.I switch my fork to my left, grab my knife, cut my food, then switch the fork back. Whichever task requires more strength and dexterity, in this case it's cutting with the knife.

My dad's all about table manners and cutting your food properly. He gets all annoyed that I cut with my left hand while holding my fork in my right (dominant) hand. He thinks I should switch over or something. Screw that, it's faster to just cut with the left then pop it into my mouth instead of fumbling around with cutlery. It's not like it's physically difficult to cut with your left hand, it's just a little piece of meat.

Definitely a righty, I can't write with my life depended on it with my left hand haha.

I guess I'm somewhat ambidextrous then, since I can easily move around scissors or knifes if they aren't working for me. I only write left.

I can't do much of anything except for really simple or learned actions with my left hand.

I'm left-handed.
Buy left hand scissors, and don't use fountain pens :p
They deferred to buy me left hand scissors when I was young, so I had to learn how to cut with right scissor
Now I can use the both.
I use foutain pens, and I don't have any problem... ? But, I write, you know, the "weird way" xD
I feel sorry for those of you leftys that want Logitech MX Revolutions.
Most of the left-handed have learned to use a right-handed mouse. Same for keyboard. :(

I knew a guy at school that was left handed - he wrote upside down and backwards o_o. I never use left handed scissors either, but i'm pretty crap and cutting because of it :p

My first writings were backwards, and so I suppose yours were too.
That's more logic for us to write that way, from the right to the left.
Some kept this, others forgot.
But I never saw upside and backward ?

Problem I have is smudging the crap out of the letters I have written down. I can cut with scissors, but if I need to cut around and object or on a line I stand no chance of getting close.
I have no idea why I'm lefty, my whole family history (of what I have found) every member is right handed. Im just special or a freak.

same here but I'm a lefty and I can just barely write with my right hand...
I wanna become ambidextrous, because it sounds cool, and its better then just being one of the 2.

That's crazy, I've seen different ways people write but never have I seen that. That's actually pretty cool to be honest haha.

Left, but I wish I was ambidextrous. My right handed letters are retarded.
Also....certain things done with the opposite hand feel like your meeting a new friend.

I'm a lefty but I'm ambidextrous. I built up writing and using both of my hands for multiple tasks, and can almost multitask, like draw a circle and a square at the same time. It's hard as hell, but I'm getting there :D My left has been the dominant one, though. I was raised to try to use my right hand, but my hand writing has sucked with it, and it's been weaker. The left side of everything in my body has always been stronger and better, easier to use.
I'm the only lefty in my family. My grandma freaked out when she found out I was a lefty. Upon research I discovered it was bad in the old days >< Demonic indeed.

My grand mother used to be able ot morror write back in ye olden days.
she could write the same sentence but one side of it would be backwards, and when you took a mirror and placed it at the center it looked exactly like the writings on the other side.
Hard to explain, but it was certainly cool.
