Summary: It's all our fault for intenet music piracy, including ISP providers, makers of MP3 players, and apparantly, Hippies.
Discuss.

Lame.
Those bastards have milked us dry for decades, with ridiculous costs to music cd's and DVD's making them Billions over that time.
Fuck em.
I do not support the industry, i support the artists, and until 90% of the Profit goes to the Artists who wrote the music, the Music industry can suck my balls, and like it.

The only CD I've actually bought, which was today, actually, in the past year has been Wierd Al's Straight Outta Lynwood album, and that was so I could just pop it into my car and listen to it on the way home, where I proceeded to rip it to my computer so I could put it on my MicroSD card.
I don't give a crap about what these managers have to say. If the artists THEMSELVES have a problem with it all, that's a different story. Not that they can legally have a problem with it, though.
(EDIT: To clarify, I'm not saying I download music without paying; I'm saying that the only time I went to get an album from the store was yesterday.)

Thats why i stick to cdbaby.com. indies only, no drm, fair prices (91 percent go right into the artists pockets) and cute emails. :)
anyways, i think the music industry has still a strong grip on our culture. a freind of mine who is studying (music) sociology told me that radio stations and comparable tv programes dont usually play what most ppl like but rather what most ppl dont hate. so for decades we were served morer or less the same (s)hit music with slight variations and completely replacable "artists".
id say that piracy/getting music for free, even if it supposedly causes "billions" of dollars in damage, is actually helpfull to this whole process of selling and listening to music. it results in increased variations, choices, and evolution of tastes.
i would call this democracy.
Also, did anyone else feel a little pissed of by this?
man, that guy makes m want to fire up my azu..umm, yeah.

Radio stations play music that's 10 years old.
Why?
because Teenagers dont have any money. All the ads and music is all meant to target the teens parents, Theres no point in trying to advertise for people with no money.
Thats why Radio stations are at least a decade behind new music.
Thats why JJJ in Australia who has no ads, and no incentive to play the same old shit bring on new artists all the time.
too early to explain properly

This retard is just pissed because he never relised how big internet sells would be and made a massive cock up by allowing places like itunes to sell their stuff. Well maybe not him but the label he works for.
ßðÐŻÍ££å pretty much sumed it up in his first post.
