He said the psychedelic effects of ayahuasca were comparable to those produced by concoctions based on bark of the acacia tree, that is frequently mentioned in the Bible. on a sidenote: that´s actually new to me. i always thought the bible was written/edited by random psychotic lunatics.

1. Even when you are high you can be able to actually write something meaningfull and in any case when you are again back to reality, it is 10 times easier.

2. If you are trying to implie that the old testament a.k.a. (Part of) the bible actually helped ppl, you are either wrong for the right reasons or you are right for the wrong reasons.

Back then, people would have been VERY susceptible due to fact they didn't have as much reasonable answers for things and TBQH, never achieved\maintained a 'high' level of education (thanks to their "leaders"). Which all of this is still happening in many 3rd world countries (and and could argue, 1st worlds...) today so they are more easily containable and "orderly".
Really, no matter how you look at it, religion is just another means of putting people under a martial law, but all the while their blinded to the fact.
People wanted answers to these things they just could not fathom reasons to; here, this guy on the next level did it. Why? We don't question him, get back that crop you \:maddowns:>! Also Cognitive Psychology (of which my sister has a major in) examines how the brain learns, basically... and is therefore completely irrelevant to drug usage.
