View Full Version : ! CONTAMINATION ALERT!

So a few montsh ago, I bought around 10 12packs of game fuel, before they stopped making it. I decided to stack it up next to the fridge, and I have about 3 cases left. So I went to get a new pack, and I noticed that there was a huge red puddle behind the cases. I'm stumped as to how to clean this shit up. It must be a few weeks old, and it's like, super solid, and super sticky. I've tried to clean it up witha sponge, that didn't work, and so I decided dishwash soap and vinigar would help soften it. WRONG! So then I thought, why not use steel wool, but the game fuel is hard and sticky enough that it actually shredded the steel wool, and now that is part of puddle too.
Any tips?

Oh wow dude, I almost hurt myself when I fell out of my chair laughing.
But, you should probably try some towels soaked in hot water, that might work. or try to peel it off like with a spatula or something.

Ask Rob for some potatoes and make them fight the game fuel.

Haha, well, what surface is it on? As in, is it in the garage or somewhere that can get wet? Because i'd possibly suggest a power washer if you have one.
If its on something like a wood floor, there really is no way to get it off without potentially damaging the wood that i can think up. If you get it wet in any way, the floor will warp.
But if its on a hard surface like tile that cant be soaked, i'd suggest S3anyBoy's idea. You just need to make sure the water is really hot.

It's a wood floor. I tried hot water, but it didn't do much against the center of the puddle, which is like, most of it.

Get a sledgehammer, and a circular saw. You might even want to try the SAWZALL. (http://www.google.com/search?q=SAWZALL) Start by cutting out the general chunk of wood afflicted by the goo, if you have the sawzall dont worry about hitting anything under the floor because it will go right through it. Be sure to use the shorter "demolition" blade that comes with the sawzall. Once you have cut it all out, take the sledgehammer and hammer AROUND the goo, but still on the cut out part. This will leverage it out of the floor so you can then pull it out, and then discard it.
From there on find a piece of plywood and a hammer+nails. Cut out a smaller sized piece of plywood using the cutout as a guide, and then place it in the hole and nail that in, providing you didnt sledgehammer out the frame and supports. Take some joint compound and start plastering it in between the holes and over the top. Then, paint the entire floor.
then put the infected wood in a large black plastic bag and drive it over to the hazardous materials dump, where professionals will take care of the rest.

If you're gonna use a sawzall, dont get the regular one! Get the Super Sawzall!

i would also suggest using a sanding block and some medium grit sandpaper to try and thin out the thicker center.

All soda solidifies like that if you get a puddle in a spot for long enough.
The water evaporates, leaving the coloring, flavor, and the corn syrup behind.

How the hell did all that soda leak out anyway? Are Tom and Jerry living in your place? Anyway, I never drink most soda pop - it's repulsive stuff imho. The only exceptions are ginger ale, carbonated lime-water, and 100-Plus.
Shame on you, stocking up on so much pop like that. Anyway, don't use a sponge. Buy a real mop (the kind with the long pole) and the type of soap that janitors use at the mall. Otherwise, use Goo-Gone, or just pour Coke on it (watch Mythbusters to understand), wait for it to mix with the Coke, and then wipe.
