I just got my eee pc and have been installing new games on it like mad, but all i have is my old ones ive beaten before.

anyone got any good suggestions for games? FPS wise the best i can really run is ut2004 or an idea of graphical range.

Although using 3danalyze i can run halo, i think ill try that first.

Anything based on the Half-Life 1 engine is good for the EEE

I got Halo 1 running on my EEE 4G at 640x480 with 20-something fps on average (CMT mod killed the fps though). Switching to fixed function helped but made the game look like shit, so I merely turned off decals and specular.

Doom 1 and wolf-3D are great too. But what I play most often on my EEE are emulators of PSX and N64 and SNES - on there, I tend to play MGS 1, syphon filter, GE007, and perfect dark 1.

Try out Max Payne 1 and 2 too - both scale pretty well (max payne 2 runs on Extreme Graphics 2 without looking like washed out crap), although on the small screen it's hard to see the bullet time effect, which is the focal point of both games.

Finally there's also UT 2003 which is less demanding than UT 2004 although UT 2004 does run.

SWAT 4 is the only game in the series that requires a really high end PC.
SWAT 3 is more like http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/8/8f/Swat_3_0004.jpg/800px-Swat_3_0004.jpg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Swat_3_0004.jpg

Ah cool, I'll look into it.

I just love ut2004 so thats why I have it over 2003, and I have 2004 on disk so no need to download. Quake 3 runs PERFECT on the eee.

I'm installing H1 right now, and then I want to try farcry just for shits and giggles (seen people running it :P)

I'm running out of space though, only like 5 gb left on 16gb sdhc card and i still needa install the 4gb monster that is farcry.

I might have to start deleting the lame games i wont play.

I was watching a video of max payne and it reminds of the new game strangehold, i might try it out as well.

Buckshot are you running at an altered res or still at 800x480?

Buckshot do you have aim or msn btw? PM me it if you do por favor.

Red Alert 1. The soviet ending was awesome.

Oblivion wouldn't even fit on like a full 16gb lawl, but it does run I believe.

Just tried halo and online multiplayer and it only has minor slowdown in campaign in huge open areas, mp works fine.

Battlezone
Battlezone II: Combat Commander
Dark Reign
Dark Reign 2
Empire Earth
Half-Life
Anything Source (will not run on high, but lower medium range)
Dune 2000

That is all I have for now...

Yeah I saw it running oblivion on youtube, poorly. :D

Halo would probably benefit from the easy overclock you can do on it.

JDMFSeanP
March 9th, 2008, 11:13 PM
yeah im running overclocked to the max right now, or max this program uses, some other one can overclock to like 1100 mhz, I'm just sitting at 900mhz as thats what its ment to run at.

I might try oblivion if i get REALLY bored, with the extra overclock.

I want cs:s D:

Then put CS:S on it.

And Audiosurf :awesome:

I dont believe it can run it well, someone tried audiosurf and said it wouldn't render for a little then just crash

It should be fast enough for source... it runs on anything. Of course, you won't be playing in servers bigger than 16 players with that CPU ;)

Freespace 1/2, Mechwarrior 3/4, any of the 3 Descent games, Emperor : Battle for Dune (which is really Command & Conquer in disguise, it was even made by Westwood), Starcraft, War3, Mechcommander 1/2. Those should keep you plenty busy. Oh and Tyrian (http://members.iinet.net.au/~vannevar/tyrian/) because 2d top-scrollers are fun as well.

Heh, Emperor: Battle for Dune is the sequel to Dune 2000.

The Eee has the same graphics chipset as my laptop. At its native resolution it should run Halo perfectly (except for a few slight texture glitches and a slightly lowered framerate)...

Mechwarrior series is ok, I've never played it on a remotely good system though (i should see if it installs in Wine on my lappy)

Half Life 1.

Also, Halo 1.

Since according to GBX, it's an old game. :smith:

Halo 1 can lag down to ~10-15 outside, inside it maxes at 30.

Multiplayer is fine, cept for like death island.

I thought old games meant anything that was further back than 2000. Anyways, does nobody remember Torin's Passage? It was my most favouritest childhood mind boggling, click-adventure game! I hold it dear to my heart over probably every other game out there.
