50 people looking for solar image of Mary lose sight
http://www.dnaindia.com/report.asp?newsid=1152984
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: At least 50 people in Kottayam district have reportedly lost their vision after gazing at the sun looking for an image of Virgin Mary.
Though alarmed health authorities have installed a signboard to counter the rumour that a solar image of Virgin Mary appeared to the believers, curious onlookers, including foreign travellers, have been thronging the venue of the ‘miracle’.
St Joseph’s ENT and Eye Hospital in Kanjirappally alone has recorded 48 cases of vision loss due to photochemical burns on the retina. “All our patients have similar history and symptoms. The damage is to the macula, the most sensitive part of retina. They have developed photochemical, not thermal, burns after continuously gazing at the sun,” Dr Annamma James Isaac, the hospital’s ophthalmologist, said.http://codebloo.net/stuff/picard-headesk.jpg

I remember a few years ago when news like this only appeared every couple of weeks. Now it's almost 2x per day.
We're all getting dumber. What's worse is that we realize it and don't care.

That would make them "Protestants".
Which denomination? That's what matters.
A Christian is a believer that Jesus Christ existed and is the savior of man. It also typically involves following several Judaic (Jewish) beliefs as well... this mainly comes from Christianity being a fork of Judaism... since in fact Jesus Christ was Jewish.
Christians involve Catholics and Protestants (of which Baptist, Anglican, Lutheran, Calvinist, Pentecostal, etc. are all members of).

There are more than two branches of the Christian Church.

There are more than two branches of the Christian Church. You're correct.
There's Catholics, and people who separated from the Catholic church... (Protestant).
That includes --
Lutheran
Calvinist
Pentecostal
Baptist
Alliance
United
Anglican
(the list... she continues on for a long time)
But all those are defined as "Protestant".
No-one is "Protestant" as their religion... they are various denominations of the Protestant movement.
Technically you could consider "Non-denominational Protestants" as simply "Protestant" -- even though Non-denominational is actually technically a denomination.
It's like Non-conformism... they consider themselves different and yet all wear the same black nail polish :p
So in summary -- a "Protestant" isn't a branch... it's a classification of branches. Hence "Protest"ant -- they disagreed with the formation of the Church.
Roman Catholicism started when Jesus named Peter as the first pope (who by the way was married).

1. Religion
2. Internet
3. ????
4. Profit Failure
Its been done here before, and failed horribly. Don't bring religion, politics, or theoretical science (sorry that didn't work out, Rob) to the internet. It won't work, and will lead to stupid non-fact-based arguments about who's opinion is better.
