Hey guys,
I'm launching my graphics site called BlindMansGFX (http://www.blindmansgfx.net). I know we have some really talented guys here, so it would be appreciated it you joined up. :) Since I'm decently active here, I figure it's going to be a "join" or "not join"... buuuttt... I figure I'll throw in the marketing talk as well

Why Join BlindMansGFX.net?

You can’t deny that there is a sad, growing trend among graphics sites these days. It seems as though nearly every graphics site uses a pirated version of IPB or VB along with a pirated skin. But sadly, the bad news doesn’t stop here. You see, most of these graphics sites aren’t actual “sites”. They’re just forums. That’s it. No way to access a database of tutorials and resources.

Fortunately, there is BlindMansGFX.net! BlindMansGFX, or BMG for short, is one of the newer websites that contains a homepage with easy access to written and video tutorials and downloadable templates. BlindMansGFX.net also has its own custom forum skin, created by the owner himself. The site offers an abundance of resources for all types of artists, constantly adding to an ever-expanding database. All members are invited to contribute to the site, sharing new ideas, resources, and graphics of their own.

If you want to take part in this revolutionary community, we welcome you to join us and help change the way the graphics world is viewed.

Took me about a minute to load all the images... On the homepage :(.

EDIT: White background doesn't do the dark site justice, throw a cool texture back there.

huh, loads quite quickly for me. I know it's not the most effecinetly coded... perhaps you clicked when the server farted a little.

I'm sorry, but the design makes me want to cry. You need to find a way to make people look at the site's content instead of the top center.

The diagonals of the background image push the eye to the upper banner. There's not any visual balance to draw the eye away from it and the radial dither to darkness in the background just reinforces that. The low contrast of the "body" of the website make incredibly difficult to realize there is text there at a casual glance. The mirrored "navigation" on top of the navigational pane literally made me think i had an astigmatism on my eye again. I had to cover up half of it just to be sure. That's bad, btw. So fix it for that and the "blindman graphics" on the banner or anywhere else it's used.

You have a nice idea on how to use the monochromatic theme there, but it's really working against you right now.

It's nice but you need to think of where the eye goes and order a bit more. the cross hatchings are really painful on the eye and can throw it around. Aside from that it's quite nice.

hehe, was messing around with chmods. It didn't go as planned :P
