GAIGHER, you're off to a good start. Keep working on it and I'm sure you'll get it done. As for getting CMT weapons and vehicles in your map, I'll talk to Masters about it.

I have always LOVED that part of that level. Instead of having just two teleporters, use a Sidewinder-esque style for the teleporter setup and have two creeks (like the one seen in the first screenshot) that you must cross (from one teleporter to the other) flowing down into the basins below. It looks great so far!

It's a good start, but to early to really omment on. CMT is not releasing anymore MP maps however, It's impossible to make them compiel without dumbing down our content. MAke it a classic map though, uif you're serious about getting it done. You don't need our tags to make a good map.

You mirrored the geometry in the middle, and you have polygons that are overlapping in the middle. Well done, you are the first new guy with some dedication to modelling.

Wow another fight on h2vista... anyways this looks promising. I actually give you 10/10 on originality. The idea of Revolt a multiplayer map would be really cool. I would take a sniper and snipe on the cliff just like the jackles did to me on legendary...

Sadly enough, that "Sexe" map reminds me of SonicXtreme's museum map. I really am impressed by his quick work on this new map.
Also, Tweek, I'm pretty sure anyone who is willing to post an evolving wireframe mesh, and a printscreen/render with UVW'd textures, isn't faking it. Try to lighten up a little, it's not even like you do Halo mapping anymore or anything (did you ever?).

When there are triangles that look wasted.
The terrain from what I can see is good, but you have parts that are flat, or really close to it, with not enough variation for it to be visible when smoothed anyway. Id suggest cutting those areas down, that and if you keep the terrain in that bulk all around the map, chances are youll alienate several players who do not have state of the art graphics cards.
That and youll improve performance on your own computer too.
Unless you can portal really well :eyesroll:
But it would really just be better to optimize it.
Show unsmoothed terrain pictures with no edged faces so I can see more.

Ones that can be welded or decreased, and still attain a close enough look.
What Im saying is that there isnt much of a change in the terrain there, so those parts would look flat ish ingame anyway, add some more intense variation, or weld them for performance reasons.

Id still say that terrain is pretty high poly, but otherwise this is pretty great.
If you dont get CMTs weapons set, or Zteams, do classic, dont do what you did with your other maps where you jammed in insanely bad weapons sets.

Why can't people change up what they play if a new better map comes out? Certain maps were played more than others before Coldsnap and Yoyorast came along. I don't see why just because people play those maps more than others, that they can't play another map that comes out that they like more. Now I'll admit, theres a full Snowgrove server on right now, but what can I say.
The pub baddies love their gimmick maps.

Yoyorast, a decent map but still a gimmick.
Don't even say that is being played because its a good map, its being played because all the noobs flock to shit like flies.
New maps with decent gameplay may get played for a couple weeks after they're released, but look at all of Arteen's maps. Look at Portent.
All amazingly done maps, but how much are they played now?

The map looks great, sure... it could use a few less polies but... in all honesty it looks fine. If your computer is too crappy to run something like this then its time to upgrade.

Errors are not the point, Your turbosmooth smashes up the poly count a lot. Meanwhile looking at it, theres not really much variation in there, that when smoothed it would look pretty much level ingame.
Otherwise, I really do like the ground texture.

From what I can gather, there are 3 ways across - the Forerunner tunnel, which is on level 2, the earthen tunnel, which is on level 1, and the teleporters. I have no idea how accurate my assumptions are, but from his earlier sketches and pictures, I'd wager thats how it is. 3 paths is just barely enough for a map of this size, but is enough nonetheless.

It's going to be interesting to see how this map "plays". There are very limited ways of movement, and by the way; please do something with the ground textures, they look alright but really do not look good the way you have them mapped onto the model.

17. You could have found that out by visiting my public profile, but that's really not the point. Once people know there's a secret room, they'll go looking for it. With the tools we have today, nothing is inaccessible. We all know that younger people play Halo games, otherwise we'd be living in a perfect world. If you continue down the path you're headed you'll find your map being played on servers titled "Help my find teh boobz!!!1!1!" or something like that. Stick to good, clean, wholesome Halo fun. I can guarantee you that CMT won't have anything to do with a map full of pornography.

EDIT: Good post thehoodedsmack. If you look at z-team servers for Sanctury, a lot of them are just "find the secrets" servers and most of the others are RPGs or something in my experience. The Z-team maps are fantastic, but I rarely play proper games with them as people are just interested in the extras. Just having the core content means that the map is played for what it is and not because of, as thehoodedsmack so eloquently put it "teh booz!!!1!1".

I'm pretty sure we (CMT) have it setup as a .garbage file. Maybe I'm wrong, I don't have the full tagset anymore so I don't think I could officially check.

I'm nearly positive it was a .garbage, as I had been interested in finding out how they had gotten physics to work like that back when I had first joined in. I will ask lag or someone once they get back, but I am 90% sure that its a .garbage file.
Also, I don't get what everyone is so afraid about with the cliffs, they do the same thing in dangercanyon. As a result the map has a little less depth, but it's no biggie. The only thing I can see and agree with is that the cliffs are eerily flat.

the cliffs on DC do so have tops.
Play on any modded PC server and you'll find that out. >__>

Désolé, j'ai pas eu le temps de répondre a tes PMs, j'étais plutôt occupé ces derniers temps :(
Bon, je sais pas si t'as tout compris, mais je vais te résumer les remarques qu'ils t'ont faites :
-Pour CMT ça va pas être possible, leur tag set ne tient plus dans une map mutlijoueur ( limite -> 128Mo :/)
-Pour Z team je sais pas, aucun n'as répondu ( ? )
-Ils ont l'air époustouflés de te map ( et moi donc ! :O)
Pour les c_storage, il faut faire un véhicule que tu forcerais a spawn sur la map via un script, qui aurait donc un tag pour la physics. J'vais regarder comment ça marche, et si j'y arrive j'te filerais le truc.
Ah aussi, tes scenery on l'air sympa, bien qu'un peu high-poly, n'oublie pas de bien les tagguer ( surtout la distance minimum/max d'affichage pour gagner en framerate)
Et désolé encore pour pas avoir répondu a tes MPs, j'suis sur MSN si tu veux.

Les murs ( nb : les murs naturels) semblent être un peu plat...
