A word of advice but I'm betting its been said... try to draw your concepts on drawing paper or at least printer paper, it'll come out a lot better, trust me, I was stubborn about this too when I first started making concepts like that, and now I regret it cuz some of the stuff I have I wish I had on clean paper lol.

Oh yeah, also, draw bigger, I guarantee you'll look back and go "what was I thinking, its so tiny?"

I started out drawing L, then realized I messed up after I drew the first line of the face and rolled with it. I decided to put a cap on the guy, and he turned into a baseball player :/
