I find it extremely funny how everyone whines and complains that the new maps cost money. Heres the thing, the maps are made by modelers. Modelers need a pay check to put food on the table. Ok then, so lets make everything they do for free so they sit there slaving over 3ds max / maya all day and then go home and tell the kids to open another can of baked beans. Ok, so the last map pack was free. It was also sponsored by Future Weapons. They payed for the maps, so people like you and I didnt have to. And at the same time, they got advertisement. I know i watched the show after downloading the maps.

My first day at new job was real fun! They first put on my head a pointy mask, much like that one uncle Louie used when meeting his friends at night. But mine is black, not white, so I thought that, different from Uncle Louie, I was meant to hang white people, but I was wrong. There's almost only black people in what they call the "death row", that corridor of cells where the prisoners wait for their turn. As it was my first day, they let me play just with the gallows, which they call "the wooden toy". Hey, don't blame me, Mom, I'm still a good Christian. It's just the way my job mates call their instruments: the wooden toy, the electric toy, the canister toy, the target toy, and that you-don't-wanna-know toy (they didn't show me that one, I'm so curious!).
Yeah, the wooden toy. Don't you think my job is just pulling the crank mindlessy. Noooo, it's quite a sophisticated function or else they wouldn't need a smart kid as me to do it. When the prisoner's neck don't break and he starts choking, I have to hop on his shoulder and bump with my feet until the spinal cord (I'm learning new words...) tears apart. I've been told that's an act of mercy, so no need to tell it to Pastor and ask people to pray for me. Well, in fact I have to say that it was not so easy. This job demands some sensibility and it was my first attempt so I accidentally decapitated the hanged (and, well, from the photo I'm sending you can tell I'm a little tiny bit out of shape). It was ugly, but well... Nothing they can't stitch at the mortuary.
At the end of the day I scored 3 - or two and a half counting the headless as half. This day, all black. You can tell Uncle Louie he should be proud!

Dear Members,

It's never easy to say things like this,
especially given that I think we've all known it's coming for
some time now, but as my father used to always tell me, "If
we only did what would be nice, nothing would ever get
done." Wise words, from a wise man. And now they ring truer
than ever to me. So, I won't beat around the bush - the economic
outlook at Gearbox Software has gone from bad to very bad to worse
in a very short time, and our most recent figures indicate that
we simply cannot sustain further losses. I wish I had better news
for you all, but unfortunately, as of the close of Friday's
business day, Gearbox Software will be forced to shut down its
puppy-mashing operations permanently.

I know this comes as no massive surprise to most of you, but I
do feel profound regret that we were not able to make our
economic model work in a real business environment. It certainly
wasn't for lack of effort, as I can tell you firsthand that we,
as a business, strove for no less than complete innovation in the
field of mashing up little cute puppies and getting their puppy
brains all over the walls. Our engineers have always been
matchless and at the very top of their field when it comes to
puppy-mashing technologies.


Unfortunately, at times like this it is only natural to look
to others to assign blame. But I personally feel that perhaps the
public simply was not ready for a company such as ours; perhaps
we have been a little too innovative, and demand has not
yet caught up with our bountiful supply. Maybe one day we will
gather once again in new offices, ready to provide solutions for
consumers who desire only the finest when it comes to taking
adorable wide-eyed puppies and just mashing the holy swinging
fuck out of them over and over and over until they don't even
really look like puppies anymore but piles of meat instead that
maybe smell sort of like puppy, only bloody. And on that day, we
will have triumphed both financially and philosophically.


But this is not that day. This is today, and today we take a
long hard look at our mistakes and see how they may be applied to
our future ventures. Gearbox Software may have failed as a company,
but its employees will all take from it important lessons, not
soon forgotten. Our drive was there, our work ethic was there,
and if our failure was for lack of anything, effort was not it. I
wish you all best of luck in your future endeavors, and hope that
one day the world will be ready for us, and for mashing up fat
little puppies like overripe grapes and making their adorable
little eyes come shooting out of their heads and puppy juice come
going BLOOOOSSHHHH out of them until they turn into greasy red
puppy paste and just mashing the fuckers up real good, mashing
them until they're good and mashed.

Removal of ticks

There are many urban legends about the proper and effective method to remove a tick. One legend states that something hot (cigarette; burnt match) should be applied to the back of the tick, which causes the tick to remove its head from the victim. It further states that ticks "screw" their heads into their victims; therefore, one must "unscrew" the head. These legends are incorrect and potentially dangerous because if a tick is disturbed it may regurgitate its stomach contents into the host including the agents of tick borne disease if the tick is infected.
Proper removal of a tick: use a pair of tweezers, grab the head of the tick near the mouth, and pull it straight out, no turning or twisting. The area should then be disinfected with rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide. If the head is not completely removed, local infection of the person/animal bitten may result, and a doctor should be consulted (or a veterinarian if the tick was removed from a pet).
