The sniper looks good to me, but then Im sure snaf will walk in and say otherwise.

LOL. as if game models have to be exaclty accurate of real life references...
its going in the Halo 1 engine ffs... if it was going in Uneal 3 or Cryengine 2 i'd understand the need for elite detail *drools about the thought of the unreal engine*, i mean cmon give this guy a brake.. the gun looks delicious if its in the distance and you're not analysing it with a magnifying glass.
slap a secsy skin on that model.
- then optimise a little.

There are alot of wasted polies on there. But it does look nice so screw accuacy.
There is no need to model the inside of the barrel.
Think about what will be seen from the FP perspective and simplify everything.
Only add detail where it will be useful.

try to delete some of the things on the left side of the gun because you will never see those in FP.;)
and try to lower the poly count by just deleting things that can be added by a Texture and a bumpmap.
:) good luck
that gun should have somewhere between 1,500-2,000 polys ;) NOT 4,000!

ORLY? What if the animator chooses to make a more elaborate melee attack or posing animation? That could very easily show the other side of the gun.

Well...if you delete the left side, you won't see shit since the left side is what you see in fp...and you can't add bump maps to weapons in halo...so...that won't help you either. And for the last god damn time, polygons don't mean jack to the game engine. The game renders triangles, more triangles, more potential lag. and 4,000 triangles is fine for todays standards.

:eek:oops my bad i meant to say the Right side. lol y bad.. but i didn't mean Delete the WHOLE side i meant just delete little things such as knobs and switchs.;)

=P im going to need the entire right side when reloading. cuz you pull the ophandle after reloading to chamber the bullet =P i might delect the inside tho.
