whenever i try to watch a video that is in WMV format (not sure if it does this with any others) the video does not play right. the colors are all messed up, like this: http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa303/corndogman939/DSC00057.jpg
I took the picture with my camera phone because whenever i try to print screen it just shows up black where the video is.
Anyone know what the cause of this could be? could it have anything to do with my graphics drivers or something else?

To fix the print screen option you have to remove Video Acceleration. Not worth the effort for a single screenie though :P
To me it looks like a corrupted codec...try to download a codec pack and reinstall.

That once happened to me after a graphics driver upgrade. I had an ATI card about three years ago. After I upgraded the drivers one day, all video in WMP was completely screwed up. After going back to the other drivers, everything was fine again.
There's a great chance that it could be a codec issue. Remove everything and see if the video plays. If it still doesn't, and if you recently upgraded your graphics drivers, completely uninstall them and try reinstalling the new version again. If that doesn't work, then uninstall the drivers again and install the ones you had previously. Also, although it won't make a difference, you might want to upgrade from WMP 9 to WMP 11.

Yea i did update my graphics drivers recently, and its an ATI card too. ill try to uninstall my drivers and see what happens. Thanks for the tips jcap.
also, im using Wmp9 because:
1) i recently did a system restore so it went back to the program default.
2) I havent bothered to update it yet, and
3) I dont really like the newer versions of WMP for some reason.

double post.
I got the problem fixed. I uninstalled my ATI Catalyst drivers and the videos are playing fine now. but i dont think ill be able to play halo CE without the drivers anymore because i had to have them installed before to play them. but at least the videos are playing.

I as well dont care much for the newer shells, but you should definitely upgrade the player. It will come with updates software that typically keeps that sort of thing from happening.
