Calverton Middle School - Two Calverton Middle School students who are only 13-years old tried to rape one of the school’s assistant principals who was working in the school on a Sunday afternoon trying to catch up on paperwork.
Police charged the two 13-year-old Calverton Middle School students with attempted rape, robbery, burglary, and trespassing after they allegedly broke into the locked school Sunday afternoon and then tried to assault one the school’s assistant principals.
Baltimore police investigators said the victim fought the teens off and called police. The boys were arrested the next morning after police identified them from the school’s security cameras.
“We just have to get a handle over this. I think we’re just going to have to make examples of some of our young people,” said Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon in speaking of the attempted rape of the assistant principal.

Concerned Calverton students and middle school parents also spoke out on Wednesday.

“She probably won’t be here next year,” said parent Sharanda Creighton of her daughter. “It’s not the school — it’s the kids that go here. It’s the people.”
Marietta English, head of Baltimore’s teachers union, said that what happened at Calverton Middle School over the weekend is another example of what’s gone wrong.
“It goes back to these students thinking there is no consequence for their behavior. They came back to school on Monday thinking that they were going to go to class as usual. They didn’t think anything was going to happen to them. It’s ridiculous,” she said.

Jimmy Gittings, head of the school administrators union, said the blame must start at home. “Once our parents start teaching our children how to respect the community and respect the schools, this whole violence situation will do a complete turnabout.”
Last year, Calverton was named as one of the state’s persistently dangerous schools. There’s a good chance it will stay on that list.

Happened in Baltimore, Maryland.

Faith in America has plunged even further. Either those kiddos watched too much porn, or their principal was so smoking hot she could turn on 13-year-olds.

But clearly things havnt been right with parenting ever since everything got over legislated.

Personally, I blame feminism. Parents in this state that are under thirty five seem to be laziest of all, they allow their brats too play to much video games and let the TV raise their kids. When I worked at Target, I wondered how these people are allowed to breed. Times like this I quote Futurama: "Have you ever tried simply turning off the TV? Sitting down with your children, and hitting them?"

In agreeance with Grunt's post, I remember a story my mother told me once. One day while we were grocery shopping, I expressed my wishes to eat a whole can of aerosol whipped cream. Y'know, the stuff where you press the tab at the top, and compressed air shoots it out. Anyways, she told me that in her childhood, she had the same wish, and after she left home, she actually bought a can, and ate all of it, which in turn gave her a tremendous stomach ache. She used that as the reason as to why I shouldn't make the same mistake, and the same principles can be applied to this. People who think they're going to be "better" than their parents need to first eamine if their parents really did anything too horrible in the first place. I feel there should be some sort of "Old-Timey" lobbying group. Someone to stand up for tried and proven values. So we're not over-run with retards...

1) k, I doubt disapproving of 13 year olds trying to gang rape someone is being made too big a deal of

2) And? So what if there are? This is disturbing and significant. I suppose all the other bad incidents should completely overshadow this event and it shouldn't have been reported on. I doubt people look at these problems to get away from bigger things. This is obviously a community issue.

3) My parents made sure I was a good enough person to not trying gang rape. There's a huge difference between a mistake and complete neglect of parental duties.

Kids don't respect their parents anymore enough to listen to them anyways.

Lets say the parent grounds the kid. "No GTA IV For the whole weekend."

The kid plays the game while she's upstairs or out at her new boyfriend's house.

Kid realizes that he can get away with shit

Kid realizes that Mommy's word isn't worth all that much.

Mommy tells kid to stop playing game when mommy catches kid.

Kid says no and keeps playing because mommy can't/wont hit him with a fucking brick.

Obviously it can be most directly attributed to the parents, but the parents didn't put crack in the ghetto, they didn't vote for a low minimum wage, they don't approve of american health care, they didn't create the live-to-work attitude, they don't make guns and they didn't repeal the assualt weapons ban, and they sure as hell didn't instigate a climate of fear.

All I'm saying is that we can't chalk this off as one person's fuck up like everybody wants to do. If your mom was 27 when you were this age, worked the night shift and had hard drug addictions, you wouldn't be inclined to do what she said either. We can't hold with every parent the power to put up an outstanding and superhuman fight against a corrosive culture.

Remember the thread I made a while back, about 8-year-old 3rd graders who had a coordinated assault strategy to get "revenge" on their teacher? They actually did careful planning, and intended to use knives and ropes.

It's the parents these days, not the games or the TV. Kids all over the world are quite rebellious nowadays. My own cousin is failing in his primary school in Hong Kong because he plays video games like crazy and his parents don't give a shit because they work long hours every day, and they don't even see his face except in the morning and after dinner. If I had a report card like his, my parents would probably take all my video games, including my computer and DS, and throw them out the window, and probably drive over them.

I won't be surprised if these 8th-graders' parents were young, stupid people who became parents before the age of 20.

Meh it all comes down to wheter there is freedom or not. Of course there are sociological+pschological factors that determine us wheter we like it or not. and it very well may be that not even our actions themselves are free i.e. are the necesssry reaction to unknown but surely existent actions. kinda like the butterfly effect (movie safe for that crappy sequel + concept). but IRL you can't actually live with that concept in mind because there, it is called making excuses.

See, back then this stuff happened, but It wasn't passed on as quick and so the generation ends up looking like a bunch of sick degenerates. I'll admit that its not right, but its not the generation.

This would not have been news back when, but nowadays its big news that some 13 year old sexual deviants went on a retard spree and flung their dicks on an asst. principal. The reason you always hear about this stuff on the news and internet is because decent shit doesen't make the news....who wants to hear about good things? You're NOT afraid of the *gasp* outdoors?

Honestly, for me? Sure Orando's not the safest place to live, but... I'd rather not be a freakin hermit.

Problem is... everyone else around here is afraid of the outdoors... or just... like being at home or something... so finding someone to do something with is a job.

Hell it took a power outage to get my roommate to go to the arcade with me.
I think Tampa has you beat on crime/murders. We have a ghetto 20 feet away from our downtown courthouse. We have shootings/stabbings in ybor every other weekend.

Luckily I live in South Tampa, and not immediately near that area, but either way..

I live in Northern Orlando (Winter Park) and it's not terrible here, but when you move here after growing up in some small ass town in the middle of nowhere it's intimidating. So a lot of the kids around here don't like to leave, especially with the crime rate where about 5 kids in my class has either had their bike stolen or shit stolen from their car. Then you also see all the crazy people wandering around...

Also, it's not uncommon to hear gunshots around here late at night.
