Augmentend Reality Tool Kit.
http://www.hitl.washington.edu/artoolkit/

By using a piece of paper with a small drawing on it the software recognizes it as the "floor" of your rendering, and will render it ontop of it. That way you can mix around reality with your 3D renders.
YouTube has alot of these things that combine it with Japanese titles so I wondered if it was restricted to Japan or something...
5spuwsAeoIo (No idea who that is, but it seems she's in almost all AR Tool Kit videos)

But seriously, this software looks AWESOME. I haven't had a chance to use it yet. but the possibilities are endless.

I went to a Scion Backstage event a bunch of months ago with my uncle that used this tech to show models of the Scion xD and its components (it was still in development at the time). It was pretty cool, the camera guy was pointing the camera at a pattern on the ground, and if you looked at the screen, it superimposed the car's 3D model on the video. It moved and rotated as the camera moved, and was pretty cool.

There was also a display a little ways away from that that had a book of these little patterns. If you held out a page and looked up at the screen above you, something would be on the page, like the engine, seats, wheels, etc.
