All of my super old stuff is in here, I mean like hella old (and crappy too) :

I figured I'd go ahead and make one of these things, so here's some of my stuff:

http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa303/corndogman939/h2interior2.jpg
Part of an interior I'm making, inspired from that part in halo2.

http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa303/corndogman939/h2interior4.jpg
More progress on the same area.

http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa303/corndogman939/baseramp1.jpg
The entrance to the interior seen above. looks rather boring to me right now.

http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa303/corndogman939/sandtrapring2.jpg
The forerunner ring from sandtrap I'm doing for H3MT.

http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa303/corndogman939/Torii.jpg
A Japanese Torii gateway.

http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa303/corndogman939/Firex3.jpg
A Fire extinguisher I modeled and skinned myself. except for the part thats obviously screencapped.

http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa303/corndogman939/lighthousesunset.jpg
A little scene i made with a lighthouse i modeled a long time ago. made with dreamscape.

Now, its been a very long time since I updated this thread so heres some newer stuff:

SLIGHTLY NEWER(But still pretty old)
http://www.modacity.net/forums/picture.php?albumid=31&pictureid=812
This was my first (and only) human head, which I never finished but I though turned out pretty well for what I had done.

http://www.modacity.net/forums/picture.php?albumid=31&pictureid=813
These were low poly scenery objects I was gonna put into CE before I realized I didn't care. Only thing really of note is the Mailbox, which would probably look pretty good with a proper texture.

A Shuriken throwing star/grenade thingy I invented for one of Snaf's competitions (a very long time ago of course.)

So yeah, this is an animation I did at school (I'm in a 3d animation program). Took me like 5 ish days because I suck, 6 hrs a day. I didn't really know anything about animation before this, so I spent a lot of time figuring things out. I realize its not very good since its my first so yeah, lemme know what you think.

Also, I had a much higher quality one rendering in mental ray, but some douchebag in my class decided to shut off the fucking computer and none of it saved, seriously WTF. The computers there suck and rendering takes forever, so I just switched to scanline renderer (and of course I had to redo my materials!) So I could finish rendering it.

E: Almost forgot, the goal of this exercise was to create a device to turn off a TV, I got a little creative with it, as you can see.

And here is a logo/emblem design I did for a friend (initials are JPF3):
http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa303/corndogman939/JPFlogo.jpg

The soccer ball as seen in the animation above, nothing special but it looks pretty good:

Simple animation my teacher had me do in class. I didn't really enjoy it but I got it done and learned a lot in the process.

Will post more hopefully soon.

All of it looks adequate, boring but adequate. I would like to see a wireframe of the Halo 2 room.

A lot of it is separate objects that I've yet to attach to the main model, if i even do. wire might be a little sloppy because i had planned on cleaning tht up later.

Those barrel structures in the far back could use a bit cleaning up but thats about it. Keep working on it and keep updating us. You have a lot of potential, all you need is the right design and you'll have a good map.

The interior needs more detail and structure in general, it's like a blank canvas right now. Show us something hot :)

Yea, when i make larger areas they tend to become empty and boring. I'll go play halo 2 or 3 for inspiration.

Bumped for new-ness.:)

Nice. I take it the structure is its original size?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, elaborate?

TeeKup

Is your model the exact same size as the ring in Sand Trap?

Corndogman

Im not sure yet. i tried to get it as close as i could by looking at it. I'm waiting on h3mt to finish the main playing area of the map so i can get it scaled compared to that model. the towers probably need some more scaling, thats why they're not attached yet, and i think the ring part needs to be bigger. other than that its pretty much done. although i didn't go for perfect accuracy, just making it look roughly like it, and saving polys. after all its not going to be viewed up close.

As they said on hm.org (forgive me god, for I have sinned), fix the lighting on the horizon of the lighthouse pic.

The water needs improvement, it looks like jello. Other than that I like it.

Well the sunset scene was just something to do when i was bored and i don't really plan on working on it anymore, i have other stuff to do.

I want to see some original forerunner structures from you. You modeled that ring pretty well, and you seem adept at 3DS max enough because you're other structures seemed pretty good too.

Super Bump from the great beyond!

I kind of forgot about this thread and since I've actually started doing stuff again I figured I'd revive it. All old stuff is in the spoiler, the rest was what I just added.

Just wondering why exactly the moon looks like it has an atmospheric glow to it?

Corndogman
October 23rd, 2009, 10:22 PM
Because I wanted to make it look pretty. Also because I'm an idiot. I should have removed it but after a certain point I didn't want to work on this any longer so I finished as quickly as possible.

Okay, I fixed that last animation and re-uploaded, the moons don't have atmospheric glow anymore. (except the stills because I didn't feel like redoing them.)

Take a look at your labels for the last section. You have no Waxing Crescent, but have Waxing Gibbous twice.

Thank you for pointing this out. Also, I just realized that for some reason like half of the video is being cut off, there's a whole part about eclipses too =/.
