As the school year comes to an end and AP exams and finals coming up, let's all give the teachers a lil surprise.

Just follow these simple steps:

1) In the middle of an essay randomly write the words "THIS IS SPARTA!"
2) Draw a single line through what you just wrote
3) Continue with the essay as normal
* Bonus points if you add "THIS IS MADNESS" to another area in the essay

Try it on typed essays too! Just apply the "strikethrough" font and be like "yeah... I couldn't delete it"

Let's not even stop at just essays, write the words "THIS IS SPARTA" in the middle of a math equation and then just cross it out.

And why stop at AP exams? Write "THIS IS SPARTA" in every essay for the rest of the year and just simply cross it out with one line. If a teacher asks what's wrong with you just reply "This is SPARTA" and kick them into a garbage can or any other objects that resemble a dark hole.

Let's spread this nationwide, invite all your friends! We want it to get to the point where the AP graders will look at all our tests this year and just go WTF?

DISCLAIMER: Lately there has been some people posting pictures taken of the actual test. As far as I know, cellphones/cameras are not allowed and this could jeopardize your score. Damn. You should have told me this before I took at the AP CS AB exam. I would've written it all over one of the programs.

(the real point here is that they aren't allowed to grade anything that is crossed out, so if you do it, it can't negatively effect your scores)

You've got to be careful, though. Crossed out or not, if they deem it a nonserious attempt, you're in trouble.

That's how it works here, anyway.

Oh, I get it now.

Maybe during essay portions of the test, if you're confident in your writing speed, try dropping the lyrics to "Never Gonna Give You Up" into the middle of the fucking essay and then crossing it all out.

That's a nifty little thing they neglected to tell me when I was in high school.

Taking an AP Exam? Remember the golden rule...

... the graders are not allowed to grade anything with a line through it.

Looking to cheer them up with some good old fashioned internet memes? Want to ask them a deep, personal question? Just write it down and cross it out!

Just think about what they'll do inside when half way through your Comp. Sci. test they find "THIS IS SPARTA!" with a thick line of pencil through it. Or as they peruse your essay for that English exam - there's the lyrics to the hit single "Never Gonna Give You Up".

This rule is probably the greatest one on the test - I know it's definitely far better than the "you lose 1/4 a point for each wrong answer" rule. It definitely beats the "no calculators on this portion of the test" rule. And don't get me started on "don't go back to another section".

So, if you're in that last bunch of AP exams this week, give your grader something to laugh at. Remember, they've probably been sitting in a dank room for hours reading the same essays over and over and over, it's your job to cheer them up.

My Y7. English/Y10. history teacher told me that when he was marking the HSC once, some guy had drawn this fucking amazing female nude on the first page, then a guy on the second with "if you swing that way", then next page is "Now I've got your attention..."; proceeded to launch into about a 5,000-word, perfectly-written essay.

I wrote the chorus of "Never Gonna Give You Up" on an essay, but I wrote each line at different paragraphs (and crossed it out) in order. I've yet to get it back.

Your marknig is complete bollocks if they dont even consider what you have crossed out.

Here in uk, they read what you have crossed out, if its right, they are more likely to give you a more for a future question where its doubtable, they like you do only put 1 line through, so they can read your answer and see if it was on the right track, if you do, you get points.

Obviously you cant just write a ton of stuff and cross it all out in hope.

Duno if anyone was planning on doing this in Canada... But don't, our graders will count anything crossed out as there, they will not ignore the crossing out.

Basically, you have an eraser for a reason...

get out Alberta is the best part

Also, they can't mark it. It's the same here, they're not allowed to mark anything that's crossed out but if you did cross out something worthwhile, they might take it into consideration when marking.

The "big" essays on the AP exams require a pen (English, Bio, etc.), so the only way to get rid of unwanted pieces of writing is to cross them out. It also explicitly states that anything crossed out can not be considered by the grader.

oh god...

I swear that sparta thing is so old now it was funny for a while, then amusing, now its just like alright. For some reason it seems like mainly the AP kids are the ones keeping it alive, I never hear any one really say it ever in school except for a few kids I know and they all have AP classes.

Whats the deal.. :confused2:

EDIT: just now wonders after posting how many people here are AP students. XD

I'm like the anti student... sry, I go to school because I have to because apparently were unable to educate our selves and need teachers to do so for us. Its sad really, I'm not saying I don't like teachers, I just dislike being told what to do and when to do it especially when it comes to my mind. I'd rather pick and choose what I want to learn and when I want to learn it, sounds closed minded but I'm just saying, I'd rather study what I currently want to study rather then have tons of info thrown at me that I'll end up forgetting because I wasn't really into learning it at the time.

Even worse are the students who just learn stuff by memorizing shit for tests simply so they get a good grade. (the ones who could care less what there learning and just memorize to make a grade) Or math students that ask "how am I going to use this in life, I'm never going to use this in life, this is retarded" its like wow, stfu if you need to complain that much, drop out and leave us all alone plz.

Like, I have classes, the ones I don't care for, I just sit there absorb, and don't think twice about it. Then the ones I like I really take the time to learn. Its almost impossible to teach someone about something that there not interested in, because that person will probably never even think about it ever again once they take the test and get a grade.

Idk, maybe I'm being to cynical, my English teachers been calling me this lately, but maybe thats just because I hardly participate in her class.
