What do you guys think of the band called Disturbed?
I hear different things about them like that they are a christen band or something.
Just wondering if it’s true. I don't think they are, they got cussing in the songs.
Discuss.

'nuff said.
I like the band every now and then. Usually I can only listen to Ten Thousand Fists in the Air, or The Sickness.

Hmm They are a great Hard rock band that make good solid music. They arnt technically very skillful but they do have there own style that's worked great.
Long story short they stand out as a great band in there genre and put on an awesome Live show.
They definitely arn't a Christian band lol.
The Sickness and ten thousand fists are there best albums.
The sickness is more heavy dark and twisted, While Ten thousand fists is more technically advanced, Solo's ect.
Try out the songs, "the game" voices, stupify, meaning of life, down with the sickness, Believe, Stricken, deify, and decadence.

I like disturbed. The music is very energetic. Sometimes the singer makes inhuman noises or barks like a dog rather than having actual lyrics though, which is ok with moderation in my book.

They're ok i guess. i don't mind listening to sickness every once in a while if its on the raido. I'm not really into that hard rock style that much though, like korn etc. I really cant stand those "inhuman noises" in any type of music though. which is why i dont like that death metal pig-squealing crap, if you actually had some vocal talent you would sing, and not make animal noises.

Down with the Sickness gets really annoying when the guy starts screaming about his mother :\

The song is good up until that point. And even after that it's ok. :eyesroll:

They're different.
What?
Yeah I guess in the same way Terrance is different to Phillip.
I had Down with the Sickness or watever in my playlist at one stage for about a week and haven't really listened to em anymore than that. There was one song I didn't mind called Believe, but really, they're boring as fuck to me, and the singer annoys me for some reason. I have plenty of space on my external hard drive, but I deleted all the songs I had of theirs a few months ago and never thought twice about it. I mean shit, I've still got Limp Bizkit stuff that I kept over Disturbed.
They just don't oil my gears.

I like some of the disturbed songs. Christian? Lmao, no. If it was Christian music, I wouldn't like it. Also, I'm Christian, so paradox!1!
Also, limp bizkit is ok.

I actually kinda like that part with him screaming about his mother.
(Spoilered due to the fact I'm curious to see if spoiler tags work here and because of people's bitter hatred of this part)
No mommy, don't do it again! Don't do it again! I'll be a good boy! I'll be a good boy! I promise! Ow! Why do you have to hit me like that, mommy! Don't do it! You're hurting me! Ow-ow! Why do you have to be such a bitch? Why can't you just fuck up and die? Why can't you just fuck up and die? Why can't you just sit here and die? Don't you ever stick your hand in my face again, bitch! FUCK NO! I DON'T NEED THIS SHIT! YOU STUPID SADISTIC ABUSIVE FUCKING WHORE! Get ready to see how it feels, mommy, here it comes, get ready to DIE!
*Ahem*

It doesnt matter to you, because as long as there not as technical as Tool you dont see any worth in them. And you do this with just about every band.
And it's how you judge just about any riffs, lyrics or song.
Keep-It-Simple-Stupid.
Sometimes simplicity can be the best way to go. Now as i said they have a different sound and style to other bands. Name one singer thats a clone of Draiman(sp?). He sounds a hell of alot different to any other singer i've ever heard of and then the band backs him with solid heavy beats.
It shits me to tears when you cant see good things in anything other then your own taste dano, Look harder and respect things for what they are.
Not for what they aint.

Um, it's got nothing to do with tool or any of that shit you mentioned. It's really quite a simple explanation really :haw:
They just sound ordinary to me. My ears, in the side of my head, made of flesh and cartilage, hear disturbed playing, and before I know it, subconsiously I'm searching through my folders looking for something else to play instead. I have no grudge against them, that would be fucking stupid.
I like The Cure, A Perfect Circle, Smashing Pumpkins and many many more bands that are far different to the usual hard metal diet some people injest.
Theres a good reason I like The Cure and the Smashing Pumkins (and no, not the song Zero, the bands actual albums) and not disturbed:
Disturbed is just meh sounding to me. It has nothing to do with simplicity, or not being in my taste. I'm fairly open to music. Their music just has never ever had an effect on me. I've never ever had that one "shiver" from listening to a song, that I've had from every other band I like.
Quit being a fanboy about it and don't take it personally. They're just not for me dude.

not being a fanboy, However you didnt foresee some kind of reaction from that post :S?
Disturbed actually have some pretty decent lyrics is you look into it, And as i said there good Solid songs, they're not the One in a million song kind of band. Theyre more consistant.
Try listening to Overburdened.
Or son of a plunder (specifically the Bridge before the last chorus)
