-I've got the Hunter and Flood splats in!

-I got rid of the visible bitmap edges!

-Since most of you fags didn't like the decaying and the purple in the Grunt splats, I've stuck in Readme instructions for getting rid of it.

-There are two types of Flood splats. I have the trademark brown splatter for infection and carrier forms but when you shoot combat forms, there will be some red and purple mixed in, taking a cue from Halo 3. If you don't like it, then you can edit the tags as you see fit.

Anyway, here are a couple of screens. Ignore the other custom content; it's just shit I do in my spare time that doesn't need to be released. I also apologize for the poor quality of the Library shots, but damn, that place is dark.

o hai guiz im bak lol

For those who remember, I was working on some special blood splatters that slowly decayed over time. Since I was unable to do this for humans and Elites (that's the engine's fault), I decided to just go ahead and give y'all the red and purple in their base form, while keeping the Grunt one decaying in the hopes that some genius will figure out how to implement them properly to everything else.

Yeah, but people can play with this now. I'm liking it, except the colors on the grunt blood look a little funky.

Well, they do breath Methane so I imagine their blood would have a very different chemical makeup than ours

^ Yeh....

But I dont like how the "spackley-ness" of the grunt blood goes all the way to the borders of the bitmap (hopefully the right vocabulary) and you can see the square outline.

I digg the Elite and Human ones, but i'm not a fan of the grunts. Nice work though.

I love them except for the grunts. Great work!

You need to work on your alphas. I can see the lines from the edge of the bitmaps.

Ha.....I feel smart for saying the right thing.

Aside from the grunt blood (needs more consistent colour instead of blue and purple... one or the other, or a less noticeable blend), it looks great! Nice job.

Visible bitmap edges: Damn. Working on it.
Blunt Grood: Rather than keeping to canon, I was taking a little artistic license; but if it's that ugly, I'll see what I can do. The problem is that since it randomly generates one of four different bitmaps in four different layers, the chance of the same bitmap shape being there for all four is highly minimal; and as of now, I can't find a non-convoluted way to align them properly.
CMT: Yeah, they were doing it; but I actually didn't know this until after Masterz saw what I was doing and told me. Huh.

Thanks for your opinions, and I appreciate the absence of assholery.

Any chance of some videos of it in action?

I've updated it with more/better stuff! Check the first post.

As for videos: There's really nothing in motion to see here. I haven't actually improved any effects; just switched some markers around and added a squirt here and there. All the beauty is in the splats.

Love the Flood's blood, the Hunter's blood needs more splotches instead of spray paint D:

yay now I don't have to bump this myself wth month-old topic bump.

Haha, I was actually going to respond to it, but then I noticed how old the topic was and I didn't want people to get mad at me bumping it. But now that I'm not bumping it, I'd like to say that these all look really good. I downloaded them for reference because as I was making my own blood splatter I found yours... and yours is very good for reference. I'm just curios though, I'm using the GIMP and in my method of doing things (which is very simple, really), the end product looks blurry compared to yours.

Basically, yours looks like the blood was being sprayed out of a main artery, mine looks like someone smashed a tomato. Of course, I exaggerate for effect, but still. Any tips on how to get the outside spray to be more hard and less blurred?

And by the way, I'm not trying to compete with you, I doubt I'll even release these because they're not going to be half as good as yours, I'm just doing this for fun.

Actually, I use GIMP too, so I can sympathize completely.
As for your blur issue, 1px/3px Pencil tool is your friend. The Pencil always makes hard edges, so just dot it with that endlessly and you shouldn't have a problem.

Also, PM me pics of your splats and I'll be able to take a better look at 'em.

I enjoy helping others, and I don't think you're trying to upstage me or rip me off, so don't concern yourself with that. :D

Thanks a lot. I was also looking at your plasma grenades. Which is quite funny... because it seems as if we're working on the same things lmao. I'm not doing anything as difficult or as cool as you are, I'm just modifying the original plasma grenade from blue to red, but it's still kind of funny.

We should be project buddies!

I joke, I joke.

The grunt bllod is cool, but i dosen't seem gruntish to me. Myabe it would be cool on a custom alien or something. Because I think the purple kills the fact that its grunt bllod, but still it looks very cool.
