Yeah, easyish :).
File -> Export to .DXF
It will take a little while, and the output isn't going to be pretty, but you can use that to make props that fit into your brushwork perfectly amongst other things.
I think you can use the free XSI Modtool to do basic map editing, although to be honest I am not sure.
Also, can you make the whole map in 3dsmax then just import it into Hammer? (CSS)
you can make parts of the level in 3ds max and put them together in hammer as props
