A guy called Masaru Tochibayashi makes these, they're incredible (and feature commentaries by Stephen Hawking, apparently):

Yeah I really can't get behind a video in which the Japs are the hero's, even if they do all die.
Pretty fucking great CGI though.

I suppose it's to be expected, we all know that I'd be lording the RAF, RCAF and RAAF over everyone else if I had the same mad skills :ohdear:

But Japanese wartime behavior represents a pinnacle of world barbarism.
(I guess not their air force so much though, soooo)
Anyway, great visuals, for sure.

Their pilots were much more chivalrous, much like everyone else's. Reports of enemy aircraft pulling alongside badly-damaged planes and escorting them to safety are surprisingly common for all of the major combatants.
I'm seriously pissed they still deny the shit out of the things Japan as a whole did, but I'm not about to go paying out on their aviators when I know of at least one case where a Japanese pilot abstained from finishing a damaged American plane off, instead seeing him down safely.
Sad thing about history is that everyone on the bad guys' side gets tarred with the same brush almost unquestioningly...
