[GALLERY] In Which ExAm Draws Things You May Find Visually Appealing
New stuff at the top
More fan bullshit BECAUSE I HAVE NO ORIGINAL IDEAS

------
MS Paint Adventures-related pieces of fan-stuff. Also, there's a Python reference and a chainsaw brand pun.
Things you need to know to understand this image:
-Blood color for these characters is unique to each of them, and matches the zodiac sign on their shirts.
-The first one takes place after a chainsaw amputation in the story, which is actually in the guy's best interest.
-Characters carry a specific variety of weapon that they stick with throughout the comic.
-You don't meet these people until very late in the story, and they're aliens.

I recommend you start reading the comic. It looks like a daunting task, but the story is mostly told through images without a lot of text, with the exception of infrequent recaps and Pesterlogs.
And if you dismiss it outright as "childish", I will hoist you into the air and do some kind of fucking backflip-suplex while I jam your upper torso into the nearest refuse receptacle, and then advise you to grow up and forever renounce that distinction while you flail your limbs about like some kind of fucking autistic octopus stuck in a rusty soup can. Plus, the story contains potentially hazardous shenanigans and swearing. Shenanigans! How can you resist?
YOU FUCKING CAN'T, THAT'S HOW. Go read that shit.

I started an Adventure of my own. (which is dead now, but still worth a read despite its brevity)

Sketchy drawing I did in a sort of stream of consciousness fashion. Re-acquiring my sense of perspective and proportion that I've forgotten over the last year

Not yet, I'm trying to find the will to actually sit down and focus on finishing a project for once. I worked on that image yesterday, after not touching it for a week.
Re: [GALLERY] Good God, ExAm can't find his gallery thread so he made a new one
I think you were asking about shading before- use brush blending and opacity.
Re: [GALLERY] Good God, ExAm can't find his gallery thread so he made a new one
I have no idea what that means. For that apricot I used a brush with opacity variation based on pen pressure, if that clarifies anything.
Re: [GALLERY] Good God, ExAm can't find his gallery thread so he made a new one
I dont know if this works, but would it be possible to shade it all and then just use the blur tool to make it smooth? =o
Looks nice though. =)
Re: [GALLERY] Good God, ExAm can't find his gallery thread so he made a new one
Not if you want defined shapes. simply blurring makes a jagged edge between the lighted area (one color) and the shadows (another). Blur can be used for some shadows but for important objects its better to start with a large brush and work your way down, using smaller and smaller brushes to fill in the inbetween colors that make the trainsition from light to shadow.

Or if it's appropriate... layer effects :p

If I want smooth transitions then I just use a large soft brush with a low opacity and apply colours to my liking.
