Here's the situation: I set up a home dedi with rec0's app using the 1.09 patched version Freelancer posted (Thx Free :)). Anyway got it all set up. The dedicated server runs perfectly.
Now here's the problem: I want to connect to it, but I can't. As soon as I connect, the dedi closes and I get a "The game has closed down" message on my client. I have tried changing both my client, and server ports. I even tried using another computer connected to the same router.
Nothing seems to work! Halp!
Rec0 doesn't like to work on a Home dedi when your the first one to join. I gave up trying and just use sapp now.
yah it is very hit or miss with home dedis... mostly miss.
Ugh... well I'm going to get another modem soon, so I'll be able to work it out.
That won't fix your problem.
Yea, the problem is that Devicator = Unstable.
here's what i observed when i used rec0
in order to join your server you have to have someone else join it first. then you can join
What if I was that someone else? (another computer)
that worked for me as well.
it's just the host computer, for some reason can't be the first to join.
unless the server went through the first map in the map cycle.
idk this is just all from my experience so do not take this as like the rule of thumb
but it just always worked for me.
