Why can't computer parts be pratical :|
So first the 8800GT can't fit in either the PCI or the PCI-E slot because it's obscured by other menial pieces, and also because putting it in the PCI slot would involve putting it in backwards (wtf, I know), I ended up buying

and

And, hell, when I figured I was buying that, I also bought

and

And I don't want to fucking see Newegg again for the next three years.
Re: Why can't computer parts be pratical :|
...you bought an AMD processor for a motherboard with an Intel socket?
Re: Why can't computer parts be pratical :|
You're kidding, right? Cause you just bought stuff that wont work together.
Re: Why can't computer parts be pratical :|
That's an impressive build!
Re: Why can't computer parts be pratical :|
Well if you turn that thing on...it can be a multipurpose machine! Like...a smoke emitting machine...or emanating toxic fumes because of the molten plastic :awesome:
Re: Why can't computer parts be pratical :|
oh wow. someone get the trumpet and prepare to play taps.
Re: Why can't computer parts be pratical :|
I just looked trough the parts...what the fuck were you trying to do? Match the motherboard to the case color or by what criteria were you searching? xD
Re: Why can't computer parts be pratical :|
If you still have em within a month, I could maybe buy something or 2 off you for whatever price you payed.
Re: Why can't computer parts be pratical :|
it's ok guys, it won't asplode nemore. i halp'd him lots.
Re: Why can't computer parts be pratical :|
Yeah, I was under the impression since my current mobo supported an integrated nVidia chip and an AMD proc that there would be no prob. It's been fixed and I've been educated on that bit.

...What? I was trying to find a mobo that supported the 8800GT's massive size, and when I realized that the current case I have here is too small for the mobo, I was looking for a case, and when I found an Apevia one that support their Apevia PSU, which I also have, I decided to buy a case. The proc and the stick of RAM were impulse buys and I figured if I was upgrading everything else I might as well upgrade that too (current system has a 64 x2 4400 and 2GB of RAM).
So here's what I switched for the AMD proc: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115030

Well the only thing I'm going to be leaving behind is my old case, my old mobo, my old proc, and my old card, and the only decent thing out of it all is the proc if you're not looking for anything for it to handle future-wise. The card is a sin, though, and I plan on recording the burning of it.
