Nah, but they should be okay. I will post a wireframe when it's done.

Not really. It looks like it doesn't make a lot of sense. If you look at real mags, any indentations or ribs follow one of two rules: they conform to the shape of the rounds (which is why some mags are narrower towards the front), or they strengthen the mag without adding too much weight. Usually the latter will be long, relatively thin indentations.
Fuck. Don't even model using Halo as inspiration. Use real weapons. Or weapons from some other game. Be brave and mix and match. Don't just churn shit out that looks almost exactly like Bungie's, then get the shits when we say it's more of the same.
let him do what he is comfortable with while still branching off to practice different styles I say.
Because at least then he'd demonstrate he's capable of doing something other than Halo, which is largely a case of bevel-extrude-repeat these days (way to go Bungie). Real weapons have plenty of shapes in them that the Halo weapons don't, so at least he could learn something useful from them. Modelling literally the same thing over and over isn't going to help nearly as much as branching out and trying new and more challenging shapes.
Yo new song. Thought I'd go for something different this time. Throw a few horns in there make the drum pattern pretty unique.

P.S. I HATE this thread title. I keep looking for a quick second wondering "Why the HELL do I have a Quicken 2010 tab in my browser???"
